Product Description:

Beyond our world lies that of the Elemental beings, the Arcana. These mighty spirits offer their abilities to the Maidens, those rare humans who are able to communicate with them. Long ago, our worlds were connected. However, the two worlds unexpectedly split apart, and a dimensional boundary was formed between them, separating our world from the Arcana. Seeking to harness their energy, the mysterious Mildred Avalon is trying to form a rift in the boundary and merge the worlds once more. Should her plan succeed, life on our world will never be the same again. Only the Maidens, with the help of their Arcana, can prevent her from bringing an end to all humanity.

Not for everyone2008-08-09
Like the title says, this game isn't for everyone. First of all, this is simply a really really simple bastion/fighting game. Plus, the game itself is more kind of an arcade game. If you want something deep and well developped, this game isn't for you.

Here is a simple way to explain my opinion...
-2D fighting/bastion/arcade game
-Simple (maybe too much), yet the control is not easy. You have to be quite accurate to do something good with any caracter or you won't have fun and you will keep losing.
-Without having learned to use a caracter (I guess it can takes at least one week)the only thing you can do is simply strike. (And it's reeeeally boring!)
-In the end the control can be easily explained : 3 strike button and one special button. You have to use and move the control stick combined with 4 buttons to make combos. Basicaly the first to start its combo is likely to win.
-The story isn't bad but it's reeeeally not the best part of the game. It's an arcade so no surprise.
-You have to be quite patient just to learn the baics to use ONLY one caracter.
-The moves and special abilities are not well developped, but you have a large choice of way to combine the fighter with an Arcane. (a spirit that changes the abilities)

but :
-Easy to start a fight without having too much to configure.
-4 simple modes : Story, Arcade, Versus and Training
-The menu is simple
-Original voices
-Fun when you get used to it
-Graphics are not bad for an arcade (and I've heard that the version seen in arcade had some lacks in the graphics, but it's well corrected by the PS2)

If you're someone patient and reeeeally interested in arcade games, maybe you'll like it. If not, forget this game! I don't like arcade games that much, but still... for myself I give this game... 3 out of 5, MAX!
