The Fabled Fable has Returned
2008-11-24Fable 2 has finally been released from Lionhead studios, a producer that seems to only put out good Fable games. Fable 2 isn't so much a videogame with a real challenge or difficult bosses to beat. Fable 2 is more a story, that can be played and a life that can be lived digitally good or bad. The story begins with the player male or female living in Bowerstone as poor and destitute orphans, only to find an ancient music box that gets the main character shot, and his/her sister murdered. And thus begins the story of revenge and depending on the character a world that is either idyllic or fallen, with a great deal of pointless options to make your heroic or villanous mark on the world.
As I stated before the game isn't really a game, it being so very easy to succeed and even death isn't a huge problem, considering there is re-spawning at the point of death with full life and no real penalty. Fable 2, however, is just fun and technically solid with solid presentation and decent progression. The combat system is good, with the character being able to use and upgrade melee fighting, ranged gun battle, or magic attacks. The transition between the fighting from melee to ranged being well done with specific experience being gained for the specific attack used.
Fable 2 for all the lovely environments and interesting character development has some negatives. Mostly that the game offers no real challenge, nor does it really varies in the side-quests or jobs that the main character can undertake. An example of this is that in the game the player can take jobs like blacksmithing that makes money for the player easily then you can get all the armour, weapons, potions, property that you want or need, then there are the more mission based jobs and quests which are repeated constantly. The combat saves the game several times with this repetition. However, the game is still very enjoyable.

Fable 2: Worth it?
2008-11-17Fable 2
I have played both fables for a fair amount of time, the new one though was something a bit diferent from the original, with its new perks and abilities youre character can gain, it seems "ok" but....if youre looking for entirely new graphics, going to the best, or "extreme" dont expect it in this sequal, for graphics remain the same, posibly a bit diferent but the down side for me was that the game did have a little "lagg" added to it. So i conclude that it was a pretty decent game, had a well story to it and well if you have the money go for it.

Good but buggy
2008-11-11Fable II is a blast, but on release is plagued by some rather serious bugs and instabilities that can make the game un-winnable and force a restart. I recommend this game, but if you haven't picked it up yet it is perhaps advisable to wait a couple weeks for it to be patched and stable.

great
2008-11-11fable 2 is an amazing game. a great storyline (fable 1 storyline was better in my opinion tho) great graphics, great combat system, great rpg system, and the quests are great. one big problem was the "freeze" bug, which has been freezing games, rendering fable games useless, and even causeing the RROD (red ring of death) being a HUGE lionhead/fable/rpg fan, i bought this game the 2nd day it was out, and it caused big overheating problems with my xbox (not permanent tho, i just let it cool outside a bit and it was good) ao i must recommend buying this game, but waiting a bit for a glitch update.

Why do i have to title? 4 stars
2008-11-09Good Rpg lots to do, owning property is a nice feature, you can now buy almost any building in the game. spell casting is finicky but overall it's the same fable fun
