BUNN of Steel...2008-11-18
Would you like to wake up feeling refreshed, and revitalized? Would you like feel like your rushed morning is just a little less hectic? You don't need a morning exercise video, you need the Bunn A10, the Bunn of Steel!

The Bunn A10 isn't just any old coffee maker, in fact, it isn't just any old Bunn. This Bunn is a professional model, which means, it is the same model you would find at a small IHOP, or Waffle House, or any other restaurant which has the need of a single hotplate coffee maker. The difference between this and MOST commercial models is that most can brew two pots (reg and decaf) at once, and have three hotplates. This one is more suited for home use, while retaining the commercial heavy usage capabilities.

This model isn't some modernized sleek brewer with a million plastic parts built to last for 2 years. This is a metal plated bad boy with few working parts, and a mechanics sensibility in design. The metal spray head is replacable, and they have plastic ones for hard water. The heater unit has its own power switch in addition to the on/warmer/off switch.

Bunn's brew fast by keeping a reservoir of water hot at all times, and the water you pour in today will be tomorrows hot coffee. The taste of the coffee is superb, but it takes more grinds to get it strong. The carafe you get with this unit is not the one pictured, which looks just like the commercial carafes, which was a bit of a disappointment at first. The carafe is the NCD decanter, which is more drum shaped and has the flip up lid. This is better for home use, as we found out later, since it is very easy to clean.

If you are looking for a coffee pot built like a tank, built to last, which makes great coffee quick, saving you precious morning minutes, I would say look no further. You have found your machine.

Highly recommended.
Still going strong after 40+ years2008-10-14
I got this out of my grandma's attic a couple of days ago. My grandpa used to be a coffe salesman for Hills Bros and took this machine to trade shows. It has got to be at least 40 years old. I just plugged it in today and it fired right up. Coffee was hot, no leaks. Brews faster than most Mr. Coffee type machines. It is a testiment to the guys at Bunn that this machine still makes good coffee.
Mine is over twenty years old, and still going.2008-09-20
Hi,

My A10 is a 1985 model. I came to the site only because of the color on that ancient model. It is a rather industrial ugly brown, and I suppose that is because it was available only for commercial use back then. I bought it from a restaurant equipment store. Anyway, such is the legacy of the A10. It wasn't sold for home use until recently. Other than the color of the plastic covers, the parts haven't changed, either. That should tell you something, but the biggest clue is the longevity of the A10's manufacture. If a company makes a model that doesn't work out, they don't keep making it forever, do they?

With very minimal attention, this unit will outlast you. And, I do mean minimal.
Nice Machine. Commercial Quality Build2008-04-29
My wife and I love our Bunn A-10 coffee maker. I have a similar unit at work and the coffee they brew tastes very smooth. I don't think I could go back to a coffee brewed in a regular drip machine. Bunn brews the coffee very fast because there is always hot water in the inside tank. The A-10 will make a pot in less than 3 minutes.
I bought this 4 1/2 years ago and it has been a great machine. Just last week the warming element went out on it and I ordered the part through a restaurant supply store. I called Bunn but they do not ship commercial parts to people who do not repair their machines. The heating element with shipping was about $30 and easy to replace by removing a few screws from the bottom of the unit.
We make at 1-2 pots a day and the water in the tank never gets low. I think there might be a better machine if you only used the coffee maker occasionally since the electric tank heater is always on and might use a lot of electricity.
I am quite happy with ours since I love the taste of the coffe it makes and the fact it is built like a tank and made in the USA. Bunn is Awesome!
Great if it fits your needs2007-08-26
Pros:
- Always hot water, useful for many different applications from making oatmeal to tea (or filling a pot of water that will boil super-quick)
- Lasted with no problem for 10 years of at least 3xweek use
- Super easy to make a lot of coffee.

But it's in my garage because
- The always-hot water feature is an enormous energy hog. Not green and not cheap if you're not making coffee all day long
- Not so great at making just 2 cups of coffee. Because that water is always hot, it evaporates quickly. So if you didn't use it yesterday, figuring out how much water to add to make two cups of coffee today is very inexact. One way is to pour water in til some comes out. Again, wasteful
- Replacement parts aren't standard/widely available
