Customer Reviews

Great Product, Great Quality, Competitive Price.2003-01-16
I had many many slides from years of photography to scan and so I set out to find a scanner that (at least had a built in slide adapter) would allow me to scan them fast, and in high quality.

This product has done just that.
I've read that the drivers for this product (for some operating systems) were not shipped with the product. I have Win 2000 and it was basically a plug'n'play experience. (i think that problem was basically with ME)

I've used it to scan my photos, and the quality of them far exceeds my own expectations.

I've used other scanners before and i find it just as slow, or maybe slightly faster than others. This must be a persistent problem throughout the technology of scanning, and not reflective of this product.

The only thing i will say that is bad about this is that the three buttons on the front of the device are annoying! I have "hit" them many many time by accident, hence launching the program and starting the lamp, all unnecessary. (user fault of course) But i wish the buttons were on top... (and i'm sure there is some way to disable them... or maybe i just have to move my scanner to a new place in my room!)... But honestly they should not be in that location.

Overall, great quality, awsome price and a great product. I'm specially impressed with the slide adapter.

HP 5370C software not compatible with windows XP2002-12-17
Why didn"t HP include the necessary software to install this program ( Precisionscan Pro no. 2.52. ) or at least offer it at no cost without having to download such a very large scanning program. This isn"t very good for HP consumer relations. My next scanner will be a cannon.
Very good scanner2001-09-17
I bought this scanner at a wholesale club-- I've got no complaints with it. Scanner allows you to copy, fax, email and print all with a touch of a button. Plus it warms up faster than other scanners I have used and no annoying clicking noises. The resolution is nice and the scanning software is pretty straight forward. Great scanner, however an on/off switch would be nice.
good product, easy installation but takes lots of disk space2001-09-11
Installation of this scanner was a breeze under Windows 98 and I was scanning stuff in no time. I use this scanner for photographs and I am satisfied with the scans I'm getting. The one big surprise was the space required for the applications that come with the scanner--- four hundred and fifteen (415) megabytes! Disks are cheap and voluminous these days so this isn't really a big deal, but it may catch some folks who are strapped for disk space by surprise. Fair warning.
Window ME requires a patch from HP website2001-07-10
Just before I began installing the driver, I read that if you are using Windows ME, you have to download a patch from HP web site.

I don't understand why HP could not have simply included this patch in the provided CD. One can argue that HP is supplying the needed technical support to provide any fix. The question is if they can print this on their instruction, they must have already known the problem(s), then why not just simply include this fix with the product?
