Worked on my Rebel 300D wonderfully
2009-06-22The remote worked perfectly with no set-up procedures. I've no experience with other remotes so this one meets all expectations.

Use it with Canon 450D/Xsi. Very convenient
2009-06-18It is small enough to be always attached to the cord of my SLR and not be intrusive. Range would be about 10 feet - after that its touch & go. But all in all a very convenient way to take pictures with a tripod.

Bummer. Not compatible with the XS
2009-06-16When I ordered this, I made sure to research that it would be compatible with my camera - Digital Rebel XS. After all, the Amazon page says it is compatible with the Rebel line. However, after I received it, and looked in my handbook, the RC-1 is not compatible with the XS.
So, before you order this, make sure that your camera model is compatible with this remote! I would have loved to use this remote, but I cannot. Don't make the same mistake that I did!

great product
2009-06-16works as advertised, in bright sunlight distance is very short, i the studio greater distance, but have to stand on the right of the camera otherwise lens blocks the sensor. Cannot beat for [...] bucks, works with 5D mark II shutter + movie and bulb function. Very small, clips to the strap.

Works great for astrophotography
2009-06-15I bought this remote because I was getting interested in Astrophotography and other things with my camera and wanted a cheap way to make sure the camera wouldn't shake. This remote exceeded my expectations as not only does it allow you to have a 2 sec delay between initiating the shot, it also is a separate button to open and close the shutter, so I can press once and release to open and later press again to close the shutter. I don't have to hold down the button or anything like that. Maybe this is more a function of my camera, but I was glad that it worked that way.
Some people say that you can have to hold the remote right in front of the camera for it to work but I didn't have that problem, you can be on about a 45 degree angle and it will work.
