Allied Telesis'' new AT-2800TX CardBus adapter card comprehensively meets all market demands for a high performance 32-bit PC card for laptop computers.The AT-2800TX is an Ethernet LAN adapter card for laptops, compatible with 10BaseT and 100BaseTX networks which auto-senses and operates with either network. This LAN PC Card for laptops meets the new 32-bit high performance PC Card standard known as CardBus. The CardBus specification provides true 32-bit PCI bus performance in a PC Card format. Unlike the claims of many "10/100 PCMCIA" cards, CardBus truly provides a 100Mb network interface. The AT-2800TX uses this new CardBus technology to eliminate the interface bottleneck that older 16-bit PC cards experience. New laptops with CardBus support are compatible with the AT-2800TX, as well as older PCMCIA cards.
