The 8546/5446 offers both the service provider and the end user with extensive management and networking capabilities. Management capabilities are provided by an integral SNMP agent supporting MIB II and private enterprise MIB extensions, making it easy to configure and monitor all Hotwire network elements. Commercial customers can proactively control their own premises equipment from their existing SNMP stations. Providing the ultimate in network management flexibility, Hotwire enables you to manage the 5446 endpoints using Paradyne's OpenLane DCE Manager and OpenLane Performance Wizard Network Management Solutions. These advanced management applications provide data collection and graphing capabilities that are highly visual to ensure ease of use. SNMP products from other vendors may also be used, including HP, IBM and Sun. Dynamic addressing support via DHCP provides the most efficient use of IP Addresses. The Hotwire 8546 RADSL line card isolates remote LAN traffic from the DSL link. When installed in the 8800/8600 DSLAM, this end-to-end solution becomes downstream multicast-ready to further enhance your network efficiency. The 8546/5446 supports four multi-user service domains, each capable of supporting multiple IP subnets for greater service provider IP addressing flexibility.
