Customer Reviews

Poor Reliability and Warranty2002-10-19
I have a $130 Sony DVD player. Sony claims a 1 year part/90 day labor warranty. First, the machine simply stopped working after 5 months. Second, to send it in for warranty repair, Sony wants $92.00 for labor, upfront, plus I have to pay for the cost to ship the item. They don't assess the problem and then give you an estimate, permitting you to decide whether or not you want to go through with a repair. Third, when I noted that the cost to repair closely approaches the cost of a new machine, their customer service representative told me I should have purchased the extended warranty.

My suggestion is, buy a more reliable product, not a Sony. Check out what the warranty, when you purchase. Select a product with 1 year parts and labor. Otherwise, find out what the manufacturer charges for warranty service.

Watch out for deceptive warranty policies.

GREAT LITTLE PORTABLE!2002-06-24
I bought this machine back at the Christmas holidays as a gift for myself and it's one of the best purchases I've made to date. Even though there's no screen, the other features in it well makes up for it. I was planning on putting it in my car but I use it at home as my main deck. My only complaint is that with some DVDs the pictures fades in and out, light to dark. I bought it for way less than advertized here, so look around.
GREAT PORTABLE, NO SCREEN, BUT STILL INCREDIBLE!!2002-01-10
Overall, this tiny dvd player is absolutely incredible. This will be great on business trips. Got a pair of video glasses to watch this player with. Overall I give this player a 4 because it doesn't have a screen, but it is a great value and I wouldn't want to pay the [price]for the one with the screen. Go pick one up today. It's definitely worth it.

Printer Buying Guide
What kind of printer is best for me? Choosing the right printer can be a daunting task. There are several different types of printing technology to choose from, each suited for different needs. Printers come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny travel companions to workgroup workhorses; some are geared toward photographers, others are for multitaskers. And the many specifications for resolution and speed can be misleading. As a rule of thumb, inkjet printers are a must for long-lasting photos, while laser printers are best to produce speedy text documents. User types: Home user | Budding novelist | Digital photographer | Entrepreneur | Corporate cog | Frequent flier Home userĀ  The home user demands a lot from a printer. The device must tackle everything from a book report to a newsletter to the occasional snapshot--all without breaking the budget. This is why for most home users, the best choice is a versatile and affordable printer, such as a small-office/home-office color ...
