Product Description:
JVC's GY-DV300 is a dual-purpose camcorder, fully functioning as a professional camera, and ready to meet the demands of professionals in need of streaming and wireless applications. To ensure the best possible image quality, the GY-DV300U incorporates three 1/3" 410, 000 CCDs (effective 380, 000 pixels) with spatial offset. Each CCD is equipped with highly advanced circuitry that virtually eliminates vertical smear (115dB smear reduction) when shooting bright lights in a dark room. Lag and image burn are also reduced to indiscernible levels, while high sensitivity of F11 at 2000 lux assures creative flexibility and simplifies lighting requirements. Unlike other cameras in its class, it has powerful pixel compensation. Horizontal resolution is an astounding 700 TV lines. The GY-DV300U incorporates JVC's new DSP with advanced 12-bit analog to digital (A/D) and digital processing to bring out natural details, eliminate spot noise, and accurately reproduce dark areas. Bright objects will not wash out under intense light situations. The sky will remain blue. 12-bit A/D provides a direct digital path (no analog pre-gain or pre-knee circuits) - a feature unique on a camera in this class! When the GY-DV300U is in the auto mode, iris, shutter speed, gain, white balance, audio record level and optional image stabilizer are all adjusted automatically according to the shooting conditions. Picture quality can be adjusted manually, with individual settings available for master black, detail, DTL frequency, V resolution, auto knee, black and color matrix.

Audio & Video Connections Guide
" For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three." - Alice Kahn
This quote is certainly applicable to consumer electronics. From the very first commercially produced radios to the latest in high-definition television technology, the manner in which the components used to deliver our news, music, movies and entertainment are interconnected seems to have escaped logic. For both the newcomer and the old hand alike, connecting equipment in the most efficient and effective manner can be a painful chore. It is hoped this article will improve your background knowledge concerning potential A/V system connection schemes and where each is most appropriate. The next time you find yourself in a "connectivity quandary" perhaps the ideas shared here will help you to quickly solve the riddle of which wire goes where and why!

View Finder - A small eyepiece or screen on the camera that allows you to see the image you're recording. (The camera also acts as a VCR, so you can play back and watch what you have already recorded through the view finder).
White Balance - If you ever ended up with yellow-tinted video, chances are you forgot to white balance. It's worthwhile to white balance every time you use your camera to get the highest quality video. If your camera doesn't have this feature, it may have an automatic or internal system. What white balancing does is adjust the intensity of the colors being recorded according to the existing light. Make sure you white balance every time the lighting conditions change; if you record video inside and then go outside, your lighting conditions have changed and you need to instruc ...
