SCL860 Palmcorder is Great!2006-04-15
This is great for home movies or recording special moments!! I think that the only bad thing about it is how little time there is on the tape. Anyways, I love all of the settings and features, and it is so easy to handle!! Woo!!
I had a deception2004-05-19
I buy a Samsung SCL-860 and I hoped to can use on a PAL VCR, but when I try to record on my VCR with PAL60 features I had a real deception because my recording is black and white. What can I do now?
great camcorder2004-03-01
I have had this camcorder for about a year. I have not had any trouble with it. I take it to the drag races with me. With the great zoom I can record the cars all the way to the end of the quarter mile track. The battery life is great. It recharges quickly. This is a great camcorder at a great price. It's really easy to operate. I would recommend it highly.
good item2004-02-10
I think this is a great camcorder for someone on a tight budget, but I don't like the fact that there is no cartridge to play the Hi-8 tape in the vcr there is a cord you hook your camcorder to the vcr with and use the camcorder almost as a vcr to play the tapes and you hae to record the Hi-8 on to a vhs from your vcr in order to not have to use your camcorder. The only good part about that is that you can use the Hi-8 tape as many times as you need to and then jsut record it on to a vhs and reuse the Hi-8 tape.
Qns2003-10-28
Do you know how to reposition the tape after record and subsequent playback? I did it manually but there is a gap (or noise) in between two vedio recordings. I know sony has 'end search' function which reposition the head to end of last recording so that the next vedio doesn't show any gap from. Can you do that in SCL 8600? Other than this function I found this product very nice.

Why You Should Use A Mini DV Camcorder
Introduction The mini DV camcorder has many advantages to offer its users. If you enjoy your digital video camera you will also enjoy this. The mini DV camcorder is easier to take with you than the regular sized cameras such as the hi definition camcorder, or the hi-Res camcorder. The size of this camcorder is one of its big advantages. The features this camcorder can offer are also great. Some cameras offer more features than others, so make sure that the camera has the features you want. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Generally when design, performance and technological improvements are made on electronic products there is a reduction in size as well to make them more compact. For example the early day radios were built in large cabinets and required radio vacuum tubes. Eventually, transistor radios were constructed and were more portable. Today, a radio can be as small as a wristwatch. Camcorders have also evolved in tec ...
Audio & Video Connections Guide
" For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three." - Alice Kahn This quote is certainly applicable to consumer electronics. From the very first commercially produced radios to the latest in high-definition television technology, the manner in which the components used to deliver our news, music, movies and entertainment are interconnected seems to have escaped logic. For both the newcomer and the old hand alike, connecting equipment in the most efficient and effective manner can be a painful chore. It is hoped this article will improve your background knowledge concerning potential A/V system connection schemes and where each is most appropriate. The next time you find yourself in a "connectivity quandary" perhaps the ideas shared here will help you to quickly solve the riddle of which wire goes where and why!
