Wobbles and sags
2008-02-16This is simply not worth the money. It is almost impossible to get my camera properly aimed at my subject on this thing. The head sags so badly that I have to aim above my subject, tighten the handle and hope the camera sags to the right position. The slightest breeze makes hand holding the camera a better option. I have since given up on this tripod and bought a real one.

Very Low Quality Tripod
2008-01-27This tripod claims to be 60", but the tallest it will go with the legs out for stability is 49.5". I got this tripod because I am simply giving photography a try, and it was inexpensive. I thought I was getting a tripod that would at least be sturdy. I have yet to take a picture with the camera on this where it is not blurry (due to shake). I do not have a remote for my camera, but with the camera mounted to the tripod, I always use the delayed timer, so I am not touching the camera or tripod to take a picture. Even with this technique, the tripod is still shaking after 2 seconds from hitting the button to take a picture. In summary, this tripod is a $20 paperweight.

Ain't Got No "Fluid" Head
2004-06-25Fluid heads are found on professional tripods and allow butter-smooth pans and tilts damped by heavy oil or grease. This is just an inexpensive tripod with a plastic head. It's good plastic, but it flexes. For the money, it's perfectly okay, but don't expect to put a camcorder on it and get a jerk-free pan.
It's reasonably compact and light, and the legs are metal with snap-lock type leg locks. Just don't put your Calumet view camera on this thing and try to make like Ansel Adams. For anything the size of a Canon G-series digital camera or smaller, it's fine. The nylon carry bag is a nice little plus.
