Adorama Filter Wrench for 67-88mm Filters
2010-03-05The Adorama Filter Wrenches are the most simple tool to do the sometimes most difficult job....removing your filters from your lenses, especially CP filters. Every camera bag should have a couple of these included with all your other gadgets. Hey, this is a simple review for a simple, but really remarkable little tool. With just a slight squeeze, filters unscrew effortlessly. Thanks for a great idea!

Filter Wrench

I had a CP stuck on my 200mm lens, it would not unscrew. I tried every scrap of advice on the internet to help me remove the stuck filter, all attempts failed. I ran into a photographer and she told me that these wrenches bailed a friend of hers out of a similar situation, I reasoned that the wrenches would not cost too much and they were worth a try. The larger of the two wrenches worked like a charm, the stuck CP came off with ease. I read a number of reviews that indicated the wrenches were not helpful, but I am not sure those folks used them correctly? Here is a trick: do not just hold the wrench at the handle end and apply pressure and turn, this may not work. Above all, after the wrench is fitted around the filter, apply pressure to the wrench body that is touching the filter, use your fingers and grasp as many points as possible and then turn. It was like a hot knife going through butter, once I used this technique. I suppose this would work with a filter of any size, assuming you had the corresponding filter wrench for that size. Good luck.

Simple, but very useful
2009-09-16Like many people I struggled with the removal of my circular polarizing filter, time and time again I would try to get a grip on the very small area of the filter that doesn't turn only to have my hand slip trying to remove the filter.
I found this simple product to be something that has saved me countless hours of frustration and anger. I'm not afraid to use my circular adjustable filters anymore. A very useful product.

You don't need it
2009-08-05I was about to buy this product when I read a few tips online. Just use a decent size rubber band over the area where you are suppose to twist it out and off it goes. I had a 77mm Tiffen Polarize filter that was really tight and I couldn't turn it. Once I tried the rubber band, it came off in 1 second. AMAZING! So save your $10 and put it on something else; however, do keep a few rubber bands handy in your bag.

Useless filter wrenches
2008-08-28If you have a stuck filter these wrenches in my case a 77mm circular polorizer was stuck on my B&W uv filter.
These wrenches are cheap flimsy waste of time, I don't know how or why anyone would want to use these, I tried everything to try and get them not to twist or bend when I squeezed them together, I finally gave up and threw them in the trash.
These filter wrenches are flimsy plastic and useless for filters that are stuck.
Take your filter to a camera shop and have a pro remove it for you, believe me these things are useless.
