Great Buy for This Filter
2009-07-04This Hoya filter was a great purchase. High quality and adds protection for the lens as well as enhancing certain shots.

Things happen
2009-07-01I received the filter with a manufacturing defect. I am 87 years old and have played with and ordered filters for more than 70 years. I ordered this Hoya filter. It came with the initial thread hanging off the metal ring. I had to cut it before I could thread it on to my lens. Forunately this is a uv filter (colorless) and once on, there is no need to ever rethread it again.
Some times blind for profit, the manufacturer may sacrifice quality. This filter was made in the Philipines. With all due respect to the Philipines, I have never ever bought any photographic item made in the Philipines. Perhaps they are still learning. H.Kahn

Good filter, good price
2009-06-25After reading a lot about using a filter or not I decided to purchase this filter to protect my Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC AF OS Zoom Lens for my Digital Rebel XTi. Lots of professionals might say you are screwing up your photo with a UV lens, but for an amateur like me I'd much rather protect my lens. Plus I haven't noticed a difference at all in my pictures. This filter has been on my lens since day one and I have no plans of taking it off anytime soon.

Hoya Filter fits well
2009-04-24Purchased the Hoya UV Haze Protection filter for our new Sony A200 DSLR primarily for physical protection for the lens. It arrived in a very nice plastic case with a seal on it so you knew your's was right from the manufacturer. The metal ring was very well made and threaded right into place on our lens with no problem.
It did have one little manufacturing defect - the small plastic ring that secures the lens in the holder was not fully in the groove. I carefully worked it into place and it seems to work well. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it so I'm OK with it. It definitely came that way from Hoya - not a problem of the merchant.

Great
2009-04-09I don't really know how you can mess up a filter, so of course this one is great. It screws on easily and it functions like it should. I've been very pleased with it.
