Sony A/V Cable
2009-04-18When trying to make a DVD using my Sony Handycam and my Sony Multifunction DVD Recorder I discovered, after studying both manuals, that I was going to need this cable (Sony VMC15FS). I went to Walmart and Circuit City and couldn't find it. Then I went to Radio Shack and was told that I won't find it in a store - it's a specific item that only Sony sells...I'd have to order it from Sony. So I went on line and found it and ordered it, and, indeed, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Ordinarily, I'd give it a 5-star rating, but I'm only giving it a 4-star because it's so difficult to obtain.

Great !!!
2008-05-25I need this cable to display whatever showed on my camcorder. It does pretty great job.

Definitely Cheaper on eBay
2007-11-22Go to eBay and spend about half the price for the equivalent cable NOT made by Sony. This way the bozos at Sony aren't making a dime off of you for their not-necessary-to-be proprietary cable and you still get what you need. I got this for my HDR-HC3 video camera for playback on my TV.

Sony VMC15FS A/V Cable
2007-05-12Hate the fact that Sony has a special cable for its camcorders but I bought this OEM cable for a great price.

Replacement Cord
2007-01-11SONY has manufactured their cord with a propreitary connection so that you have to order directly from them. Most cords can be purchased for about $7 locally in stores but SONY's has to be ordered. Amazon had the best price on this item and it works great but it is annoying that you have to purchase a SONY original part.

Why You Should Use A Mini DV Camcorder
Introduction
The mini DV camcorder has many advantages to offer its users. If you enjoy your digital video camera you will also enjoy this. The mini DV camcorder is easier to take with you than the regular sized cameras such as the hi definition camcorder, or the hi-Res camcorder. The size of this camcorder is one of its big advantages. The features this camcorder can offer are also great. Some cameras offer more features than others, so make sure that the camera has the features you want.

Generally when design, performance and technological improvements are made on electronic products there is a reduction in size as well to make them more compact.
For example the early day radios were built in large cabinets and required radio vacuum tubes. Eventually, transistor radios were constructed and were more portable. Today, a radio can be as small as a wristwatch.
Camcorders have also evolved in tec ...
Audio & Video Connections Guide
" For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three." - Alice Kahn
This quote is certainly applicable to consumer electronics. From the very first commercially produced radios to the latest in high-definition television technology, the manner in which the components used to deliver our news, music, movies and entertainment are interconnected seems to have escaped logic. For both the newcomer and the old hand alike, connecting equipment in the most efficient and effective manner can be a painful chore. It is hoped this article will improve your background knowledge concerning potential A/V system connection schemes and where each is most appropriate. The next time you find yourself in a "connectivity quandary" perhaps the ideas shared here will help you to quickly solve the riddle of which wire goes where and why!
