Good radio
2008-09-10Good product. Recieved it promptly. Opened up the box, plugged it in. Read the instructions and programmed the county code for my state. Next time a severe thunderstorm came up (about a week later) it worked flawlessly. Would recommend for folks who live out in the rural areas and away from the toronado sirens. Once again a good product for the money.

Excellent little radio
2008-09-06This radio is excellent. It picks up the weather better than others I've seen in this area. It is reasonably easy to program for the area if you have web access to get the lists of county codes. It works well, sits silent until there's an alarm.

Great Product
2008-08-28After the rash of tornadoes in our area we decided to buy the Weather radio. Setup was very easy. We liked this product so much we bought another for my parents.

Great SAME Weather Radio - Works Perfectly
2008-08-19I have owned this unit (WR-100C) for over two months with no problems. Once the correct SAME code(s) for your area are entered, you can eliminate those alarms you do not wish to hear. As Tropical Storm Fay came by us, the radio was going off all the time with the new alerts just as expected. The only feature that I would like to see is an option button to mute all alerts except `Warnings' so that Informational and Watch alerts do not wake you up during the night.

A terrible radio!
2008-08-13This radio worked great for about 4 months. Now everytime I turn it on I have about 10 seconds to listen to the weather then all I get is static and dislpay shows signal failure. To make matters worse, Midland, who is located near me told me I needed an external antennea. I then told her that it's worked fine for 4 months and it's been in the same location in my house the whole time. She told me to take it back where I bought it or send it in to them with my receipt. I bought this at a grocery store and I don't have the receipt. What a piece of s@*&!!

Digital cameras are good for the environment
As we consider the digital camera revolution that has taken place over the last decade, most people think about it in terms of enhanced benefits for consumers. We can take a lot more pictures at much lower cost with digital cameras versus film cameras. We can also more easily manipulate and share those photos since they're all in the digital realm.
But one thing many people don't think about actually deserves mention as potentially the most profound effect of the digital camera revolution: how digital cameras greatly reduce the destructive impact on the environment compared to film cameras.
At first, you might think, "How can that be? My film camera didn't harm the environment!" Even though it wasn't your camera that harmed the environment, your film processing did indeed harm it. Any time you take your pictures to a photo processing center, that film is run through batches of chemicals. These chemicals are environmental hazards, and once they are used to process film, those chem ...
