Monster Cable MP HTS 1000 PowerCenter with Clean Power Stage 2 (v.2.0)
- ASIN: B0000E2PMB
- List Price: $149.99
Product Description:
Harmful power surges and voltage spikes can travel up the AC power line and damage connected equipment. Lightning, automatic garage doors, power tools, refrigerators and fluorescent lights all cause power surges and voltage spikes that affect phone lines and coax cables. Monster's Multirole SurgeGuard detects harmful power surges and voltage spikes before they reach components. This PowerCenter HITS 1000 features special surge protection for phone lines and coax cables used for DSS, DIVX /DVD and cable TV connections. Other surge protectors can result in as much as 20 to 30 dB of signal loss, which ultimately affects the output performance of coax connections. Monster's ultra-low loss RF circuitry provides virtually no signal loss to maintain peak performance. Best of all, an audible surge alarm and visual surge indicator warn you of harmful surges and let you know you're getting the most advanced protection available.

Monster Cable MP HTS 1000 Power Center
2008-09-23The only shortcoming to this unit is plug spacing which hampers connecting wall-mount-type power supplies. The unit is one of those great "put it in & forget about it" parts that are vital to the overall success of a modest home theater installation.

Monster Power Center
2008-09-20Works as advertised but I did not see a change. I bought the powercenter to protect my equipment and piece of mind. Great quality product compared to others.

works but spike fried it
2008-03-24first spike my house ever had fried this product . i have know idea if this product helped or not . the spike fried an xbox that was not hooked up to a surge protector . but it should have some sort of a reset if ther is a spike.

Good surge protector
2007-12-18I have this connected to my 40" Samsung LCD and the picture is amazing. Before using this product turning on lights would make the picture flicker, but now it is GONE. Quite a few outlets for power and antenna. I had the antenna directly into the tv, but tried to go through the surge protector. It actually cleared a few channels up, so I was impressed. Overall, good product and recommended.
PS. The surge protector is large (normal surge protector on steroids), so look at the dimensions.

Does not work with my Dish HD service
2007-12-11The product was certainly well made and heavy. However, it does not work with my Dish High Def Satellite service. When hooked up to the Dish per the instructions, the television signal will not come through the unit. When disconnected and plugged in the old way, the Dish signal comes through. I found this unsatisfactory because this is the newest version of this unit, the HTS1000 Mk II. I have read that older units will not work with Direct or Dish service; this was the newest unit and was supposed to have the bugs out of it. I spoke with two audio/video professionals about this problem and they agreed; the units do not permit the Dish Hi Def signal to pass through the unit. Case closed.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
