Douwe Egberts Ground Coffee - Medium Roast (8.8 ounce) by igourmet.com
Product Description:
The history of Douwe Egberts starts in 1753 when a husband and wife opened The White Ox, a gourmet shop in the North of Holland. Their offerings focused on coffee, tea and tobacco, products that were imported from the Far East and traded in Amsterdam. Sales grew rapidly and soon Douwe Egberts started a wholesaling and distribution business. They built their first coffee roasting plant in 1919 and began exporting their premium quality coffee in 1930. By 1960, Douwe Egberts accounted for more than half of Dutch coffee exports. Available in three varieties - Dark Roast, Medium Roast, and Decaffeinated - we have found no other coffee that can match the heady power and richness of these blends.

Supberb!
2008-06-15Have been a coffee drinker for 40 years. Douwe Egberts coffee with its gourmet flavor and aroma is a treat for the senses. Shop Froogle for substantial savings.

Medium Roast Coffee, not over burned beans!
2008-06-14Have to say up front. the shipping cost was about $50 (yes $fifty dollars) So I won't be able to afford this again. However, it was Heavenly, delicious, aromatic, wonderful. It's great to find a good quality coffee in a MEDIUM roast. Most coffees, and coffee shop stores overcook and burn their beans. Some people like that.
This is a perfectly moderately roasted coffee, as is the de-caffeinated medium roast.
glad I bought it. Pricy, but this is a luxury as it is so rare to find this quality of taste.

Terrific Cup of Coffee
2008-04-20This coffee was first found while staying at a Wingate hotel and if a coffee can be characterized as a "Vintage", it earns it very well.

The real deal
2008-01-13How many times have you gone to a nice restaurant and had coffee that just
made you sit up and take notice?
My Wife and I eat Breakfast out, Sundays and are served DE's.
I finally had to ask the waitress what brand was used as we haven't had this good a cup of coffee in along time.
There is an absence of bitterness and a smoothness that is hard to describe.
I've placed my second order and this time it's for more than one bag.

Better than Starbucks
2006-09-29Just like the first reviewer, I also first tried Douwe Egbert coffee at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas. I love coffee but as soon as I tasted this, I knew it was something special! My boyfriend and I asked the server what kind of coffee it was but he said he couldn't pronounce it. We found out from the bartender. This is the smoothest, tastiest coffee I've ever had; it's hard to describe it exactly; you just have to try it!
