KitchenAid 5-pc. Gadget Set - Red

This is a great set of utensils. I love the bold color. The utensils work really well, just be cautious around heat - the handles tend to melt, even if just touching something warm for a minute. This, paired with a Pyrex baking dish, makes a really good starter set if you need a wedding gift.

Got all these but the ice cream scoop in blue and they are my favorite little tools to date. I do quite a bit of baking for my little family and these come in so handy and clean easily. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I definately got this set because it was KitchenAid and when with the Red kitchen theme I have. Overall, it's a pretty good deal. The spatuala and the peeler are awesome! The Ice Scream Scoop is just a basic Ice Cream scoop, but it does have a nice sturdy handle which makes scooping hard ice cream easier. The whisk handle is a little too bukly, and would have been nicer if the handle was round instead of oblong, so you can roll it between your palms for better whisking. The can opener is hit-or-miss. Sometimes it does a great job. Other times it is almost impossible to actually get a normal can open. I'm glad I bought this but mostly because of the color, styling, and the "good" utensils. I'm sure there are better-quality and better designs out there though.

All of these items are bulkier than they need to be, so it just seems they take up a lot of room in the drawer. I had used the spatula for all sorts of cooking, but I did manage to melt the tip of it while stirring a (probably too hot) skillet (my fault- that didn't affect my star rating, just a warning). My only other complaint is the whisk is so big, there have been a number of times I don't couldn't use it- like whisking just a couple eggs in a small bowl- I had to find a smaller whisk.

These things are great! They are really comfortable to use, they work well and stand the test of time! My Mom always said that Kitchen Aid was the way to go and for once my Mom and I agree on something, lol! And by the way, this price is a steal at Target! Buy it here, the department stores will KILL your wallet!
