Orion Shorty 2x Barlow Lens, 1.25
2009-04-26Great lens for doubling the magnification of eyepieces. I was pleasantly pleased! Shipped fast, and in perfect condition, no problems.

wouldn`t want to view without it.
2009-02-05Heck , I used the slow motion tracking knob on my telescope with this lens and tracked a jumbo jet I could barely make out with my eyes. I can`t wait to do it again. clearly saw the engines, wings and tail wings with the vapor trail spewing from behind. It truly does double the power of your lens. Sure I had some vibrational distortion when I tracked the jet but to be expected with that kind of magnification. Worth the money ? Duh.

A Good Lens For A Good Price

Pros:
-----
Doubles your lens collection. My son has a 90mm mak-cass. He has two lenses that yield 50X and 75X. The barlow doubles them to 50X, 75X, 100X, 150X. This is about as large as a 90mm can go.
I use this barlow on my Dobsonian. I like having more magnification without reducing the exit hole on my eyepiece. Some eyepieces are not as good around the edges. A barlow gives a larger clear spot while increasing magnification. This is win/win. I often use the barlow, even if I have a lens that will yield the same magnification.
Cons:
-----
A barlow will give good magnification on items that can be magnified, such as the moon and planets. When looking at deep sky objects, I often like wider fields and lower magnification.
This particular barlow offers great bang for the buck.

Works as promised
2008-11-30Well-crafted, nice lens, works as promised. Helped us pull in Jupiter at resolutions we hadn't captured before, as well as a nebula. Very exciting!

Good for most uses
2008-08-25This will be a good product for most applications, and is very convenient for lighter scopes. Works just fine in my Meade ETX-90. But shows its weakness, as all less expensive eyepieces do, in a very high quality refractor (Stellarvue SV80S). Consider the short Antares 3X Barlow, or the more expensive Orion 2X, if you have a scope with very hiqh quality optics, or might upgrade to it.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
