Epson RX 5002008-05-31
I know you want to hear about the RX600 and I hope this info about its predecessor, the RX500 is somewhat helpful to you: I bought my RX500 in March of 06 and it has truly been a fantastic machine. IT does the printing, copying very well. The software is most user friendly and I've NEVER had a problem with it and have used it soley for home use. Photo prints are about a 7 on a 10 scale, however. Sorry to hear about the LCD failures on the 600s. Epson should make good on that for you since it seems to be so frequent. I hold Epson, the company and its products in high regard and hope they fix this defect and do right by it customers. I would by another Epson but not the 600.
RX600 and Epson very disappointing2007-12-07
We bought our RX600 3-4 years ago. Prints great photos. Scans successfully. Was never able to scan slides. All kinds of problems dating back to brand new. Ink is outrageously expensive and it consumes tons of ink. I have had to periodically unplug the RX600 to reset it to where it would boot up. Yesterday, it froze. Had to unplug again. This time, it's completely dead. Will not power up. Followed the Epson on-line troubleshooting, which led me to a 562 area code number (no toll free number???). That led me to customer service - IN INDIA!!! You get someone with a script in front of them who knows nothing about the product. I will ditch this RX600 and go back to a name I trust - HP. I have an HP LaserJet 4P, new in 1992, still runs like a champ. Printer cartridges are $100 about every 6-8 months. Wonderful printer. The RX600 has been a terrible disappointment.
How to change the ink after the LCD Screen Burns Out2007-02-19
My Epson Stylus Photo RX600 had its screen go dark after about 16 months of service. I thought at first it was a loose wire. But in fact, the Epson Stylus Photo RX600 appears to be notorious for the LCD burning out! If you go to the Epson Website, they list 3 parts dealers (in February 2007). 2 of 3 of them do not appear to list the LCD screen for replacement. The website of the 3rd one is down. I may call them on Monday.

MEANWHILE-- Sooner or later you will want to change your ink cartridges.
HERE'S HOW TO GET THE PRINT HEAD TO MOVE TO ITS REPLACEMENT POSITION--

1) Turn off the printer, then turn it on again.
Wait until the lights stop blinking.

2) Press the [Setup] button. It should light up.

3) PRESS THE DOWN ARROW 4 TIMES (It is the down part of the concave circular button immediately to the right of the burned out screen).

4) Press the [OK] button TWO TIMES.

If you are successful, the printer should buzz briefly.
When you open the top, the ink holder should have moved to its "load/reload" position, and you can then change the ink cartridges.

Some companies have software that allows you to manipulate the printer from
your computer screen. Epson apparently does not.

I thought it was a great printer and scanner, while it worked, but the loss of the
LCD screen makes about 2/3 of its features unavailable for use.
So if you are thinking of getting one, Don't! Either that, or buy the longest extended warranty package possible. You are going to need it!
Epson Stylus Photo RX600 LCD Failure2006-12-23
Like so many others, I have experienced LCD failure after warranty expiration of my Epson Stylus Photo RX600 Inkjet All-in-one. Seems like EPSON may have included a timer for these units to fail. Don't purchase EPSON!!!!
Nice printer, but not really Mac-compatible2006-12-11
I have this printer and while the output is good, Epson has yet to release an application for Intel-based Macs to take full advantage of the scanning capabilities. For the time being, I have to use "full auto mode" when scanning and hope that the scanner correctly guesses the type of documents and crops to the selection. If I try to take more control over the scanning process, the scanner simply does not work. Very annoying, and I haven't received any help from Epson with this issue.

The types of camcorders
If you are planning on purchasing a camcorder, you should be familiar with the types of camcorders and how they can benefit your specific needs. The formats of video cameras include, VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, Mini Digital Video (Mini DV), DVD and Digital 8. Each format has its pros and cons VHS The VHS format is the oldest type of camcorder. This type of video camcorder is fast becoming outdated, because you can only play back the video on a VHS VCR system. VHS camcorders are not nearly as clear as digital video camcorders that offer clear video with 540 lines of resolution, VHS video cameras only offer 240 lines of resolution. They also weigh more and are much more bulky, that dv camcorders. You can only find these video camera used because their technology is now outdated. VHS-C The VHS-C format offer 240 lines of resolution, just like VHS. These analog camcorders come in a smaller size that the VHS camcorder models, but use the same technology. The video tapes u ...
Driving with a cell phone is a lot less dangerous than driving on prescription drugs
There's a lot of debate today about the safety of using cell phones while driving. Statistics show that those who use cell phones while driving cause a much greater percentage of accidents than those who avoid using their cell phones. And the studies have shown that it's not just the physical coordination required to punch numbers into the cell phone while you're trying to work the vehicle that causes accidents; it's actually the lack of attention resulting from driving and talking on the cell phone at the same time. It seems that when you're distracted, you're more likely to cause accidents. In terms of public safety, it's probably correct to say that banning cell phones would reduce the number of traffic accidents. But I think, more accurately, it depends on the person. Some people are operating on, shall we say, lower power CPUs in their heads to begin with. They might be zoned out on prescription drugs, and when you add a cell phone to the equation, they do become a danger to the ...
