Like screaming kids
2008-10-14Purchased unit with intend of running a portable DVD player for the kids, and a peaceful trip for me. Instead I got the opposite, as soon as I plugged the unit into Power Port I blew two 20 AMP fuses (on 2004 F-150) so I did the dumbest thing I wired it to the battery and short the battery out. So I'm out a battery and inverter at this point. Take my warning DO NOT BUY this piece of junk, you'll feel better giving a homeless person $32.19 instead of dealing with disappointed kids.

So far so good
2008-10-02So far so good. Bought it to use in our camper on a 9 inch TV that has a TV box hooked up to it. Doesn't make noise, takes up minimal space and the picture is great. We haven't had the occasion to hook two things in to it yet but so far so good. Working as it should. Thanks

The perfect car companion
2008-09-06I got the Xantrex for a family trip to Virginia, and it worked exactly as advertised. The kids ran two laptops off of it for the entire trip, and never had a problem. The cooling fan did come on once for a few minutes, and, as others have noted, the fan is audible if you listen for it, but no louder than the road noise and far from problematic. Besides, it only happened once in about 36 hours of use, and then only for about three minutes. The unit is really well made and well worth the money.

Sufficient power works quietly
2008-07-31This 400 watter suits me well with its dual 3-prong AC outlets, fan equipped, aluminum body, and reasonable price.

Great Product
2008-07-27I purchased this for an RV trip. We didn't want to run the loud generator while we were driving, but did want access to some electronics like TV and video games. The unit performed great. It has a toggle switch for on/off as well as an LED light to indicate its on. I don't understand the technical details of how this works, but every so often it would run h-o-t, so keep it somewhere well ventilated and away from hands/feet.

Driving with a cell phone is a lot less dangerous than driving on prescription drugs
There's a lot of debate today about the safety of using cell phones while driving. Statistics show that those who use cell phones while driving cause a much greater percentage of accidents than those who avoid using their cell phones. And the studies have shown that it's not just the physical coordination required to punch numbers into the cell phone while you're trying to work the vehicle that causes accidents; it's actually the lack of attention resulting from driving and talking on the cell phone at the same time. It seems that when you're distracted, you're more likely to cause accidents.
In terms of public safety, it's probably correct to say that banning cell phones would reduce the number of traffic accidents. But I think, more accurately, it depends on the person. Some people are operating on, shall we say, lower power CPUs in their heads to begin with. They might be zoned out on prescription drugs, and when you add a cell phone to the equation, they do become a danger to the ...
Why You Should Use A Mini DV Camcorder
Introduction
The mini DV camcorder has many advantages to offer its users. If you enjoy your digital video camera you will also enjoy this. The mini DV camcorder is easier to take with you than the regular sized cameras such as the hi definition camcorder, or the hi-Res camcorder. The size of this camcorder is one of its big advantages. The features this camcorder can offer are also great. Some cameras offer more features than others, so make sure that the camera has the features you want.

Generally when design, performance and technological improvements are made on electronic products there is a reduction in size as well to make them more compact.
For example the early day radios were built in large cabinets and required radio vacuum tubes. Eventually, transistor radios were constructed and were more portable. Today, a radio can be as small as a wristwatch.
Camcorders have also evolved in tec ...
