Horrible Printer
2009-05-17This printer is not worth your money. I never review products online, but this printer is so incredibly worthless that I'm strongly motivated to write this review. You're better off investing more in a printer with ink that lasts and is not so expensive! This Epson is ridiculous in that every ink cartridge (4 of them) cannot be empty or else you cannot print ANYTHING. As a college student, I print a lot of papers and articles. All I really need to use is the black ink cartridge. But, somehow, when the yellow, cyan, or magenta is used up, you must by them all to print, even if you just want to print a text document in black. AND recently, the price of these cartridges have gone up to about $75!! (Before I was paying around $60!) AND that's cheaper than buying them all separately! I've had it with this printer (which I only got because it came with my laptop). So, now I'm looking for another printer with cheaper ink cartridges. And that's just the beginning! This printer is prone to paper jams, and just getting the printer to start takes a good 3-4 minutes. Definitely not worth your money - Epson will get you with the costs of the ink cartridges.

Had a problem with ink, was replaced with 4800
2009-02-05CX4800 is excellent! The 4600 had an ink problem, so Epson sent me the 4800 instead for free.

EPSON STYLUS CX4600 worst thing I ever unboxed
2008-11-21Why am I here?
Because all I needed to do was make 2 scans to include in a shipping document.
This is supposed to be a stand alone scanner where the computer isn't needed.
Well, the output of the copy is by far the worst thing I have ever seen.
Almost a slight image of words if black is selected.
Streaked with red if color is tried.
This printer was included with purchase of Apple laptop.
I just unboxed it month ago. Thanks Apple!
I'll update any changes discovered, otherwise I'm setting it out on the street.
I have a 5 year old Canon i9900 that is flawless, but no scan feature.

NO STARS - this printer SUUUX!!!!!!!!
2008-02-05do NOT buy this printer. everything in the reviews posted here prove correct. the ink on my printer completely ran out after very little time. i, too, tried to replace only the black but was forced to buy the color cartridges (even though i had BARELY used them at all.) After replacing all of them, STILL NOTHING. just wouldn't work or register the new cartridges. what a total piece of CRAP!!! never EVER buy epson.

Clogs all the time and uses up ink like crazy
2007-09-26When new this product was nice. It was a good scanner and the print output looked good. However, if I don't print for a week the print heads need cleaning, and sometimes more than once. This cleaning in turn uses up the ink. For me I print about one thing a week, clean it once a week which causes my ink to run out in about 8 weeks. On top of this the cartridges are hugely expensive. I estimate I am paying somewhere around ten dollars a page! Obviously this printer is useless for my needs.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
