Works great! but slower than I hoped2010-03-01
My keyboard is connected to the switch. The keyboard includes a hub which my mouse is connected to. The switch enables one keyboard and one mouse for both my Windows and Mac machines.

Switching from Mac to Windows takes 5-6 seconds. Switching from Windows to Mac takes 1-2 seconds. I don't know why there is such a difference in time but 5-6 seconds is frustratingly slow.
Poor product2010-02-27
CD for windows a flop. After an hour online with service call to a noisy, remote location with an individual whose English was barely understandable I was told the CD was the problem, and to return the product. I opted to return and purchased a Belkin which works, but surprisingly the latter came with no instructions. What are these people who make these products thinking?
Looks good, functions poorly2010-02-01
This is not a good USB switch. Oh, it's one of the best looking, have no doubt. But many of them (yes, I've gone through a few) have switches that are substandard, which mean that many presses will go unnoticed, and you'll find that you have to press harder than you should in order to get it to register.

But the biggest flaw with this switch is that it is NOT 100% compatible. I've found some peripherals that don't work with it. If you plug the peripheral directly into the switch, the computer won't recognize it, and an error will be generated. You can sometimes get around this by plugging that peripheral into a hub, and plugging the hub into the switch - but it's a patch job, and shouldn't be necessary.

When I encountered this, I looked around for a better choice and found one - by Cables To Go (Model 30505). The Cables To Go model worked flawlessly, and supported the peripherals that this IOGear switch does not.

So, my recommendation is to avoid this switch, and purchase the Cables To Go model instead.
Perfect for USB External Disks2010-01-25
I use this product to connect one external USB disk to two computers. It works perfectly for this purpose. I don't use the software, but rather just the physical push button on the device.

Of course, you'll have to remember not to switch it while the disk is active, and properly unmount/eject the disk in each OS before switching.

Sharing Switch2010-01-22
The IOGear USB Sharing Switch was easy to install and use. The problem that
I had was the software would not load on one of the computers that I was
connecting the Printer to. The software did load on the second computer.
So I have to Manually switch between the first computer.
