Customer Reviews

Inconsistant quality2006-04-04
When I first got this scanner it was great, I loved the size and the color handeling was pretty much spot on. However, only 6 months in, it has developed a light area where it scanns color images lighter down the side than over the rest of the scan bed. This has come to be unacceptable in some highly critical scans. As much as I would like to love this scanner, I would not buy one again or recommend one - unfortuante.
Nothing but trouble2005-06-09
Quirky software and poor documentation make this scanner more trouble than it's worth. Once installed, you can't get some of the bundled software off. The scanner takes forever to warm up and start scanning... even if you just scanned something seconds before. Stay away from this one.
It does not come with Silverfast SE/AI 6.02005-01-14
I got my order 2 days ago. When I open the box and take a look, the software bundle DOES NOT INCLUDE LaserSoft Silverfast SE.It only come with Microtek ScanWizard. However,it seems, the Microtek ScanWizard is usable. I scan a 4"x5" negative and it seems to work ok, I think that I need to play with the scanning software some more to see if I can get it right.

I will submit my detail review later on...

Professional video camera
A Professional video camera (often called a Television camera even though the use has spread) is a high-end device for recording electronic moving images (as opposed to a movie camera, that records the images on film). Originally developed for use in television studios, they are now commonly used for corporate and educational videos, music videos, direct-to-video movies, etc. There are two types of professional video cameras: High end portable, recording cameras (essentially, high-end camcorders) used for ENG and EFP image acquisition, and studio cameras which lack the recording capability of a camcorder, and are often fixed on studio pedestals. Portable professional cameras are generally much larger than consumer cameras and are designed to be carried on the shoulder. Technology It is common for professional cameras to split the incoming light into the three primary colors that humans are able to see, feeding each color into a separate pickup tube (in older cameras) or charge ...

White Balance - If you ever ended up with yellow-tinted video, chances are you forgot to white balance. It's worthwhile to white balance every time you use your camera to get the highest quality video. If your camera doesn't have this feature, it may have an automatic or internal system. What white balancing does is adjust the intensity of the colors being recorded according to the existing light. Make sure you white balance every time the lighting conditions change; if you record video inside and then go outside, your lighting conditions have changed and you need to instruc ...
