Some Like it Hot2008-01-21
My husband really likes these Hot Cinnamon Toothpics, for me they are too
hot, he says they last a long time and are very hot. He use to be a smoker, but when he quit he took up cinnamon toothpics, we use to buy another brand at the local convenience store. Then they disappeared and we found another brand thru a specialty store, I won't say the name, but it comes in a tin can. He didn't like those at all. I searched and I searched until I came upon Hot Lix and ordered them on line thru Amazon.

These Hot Lix are just fine he says.

Excellent intense cinnamon flavor!!2007-07-08
This is a great item for anyone wanting to lose weight or quit smoking. A very good strong cinnamon flavor without the added calories.
Worth the additional cost over the cheaper Harmon'a2006-10-13
Vs. Harmon Cinnamon Toothpicks
I say worth the additional cost simply because the Harmon sticks are, to me at least, like sucking on a match stick. What's more, these are good, solid toothpicks, not slivers of splintery wood with the consistency of overdue cottage cheese. I call your attention to the reviews of the Harmon sticks. All the 5-star reviews speak of how nostalgic the candy is, not its flavor or quality. The 1-star reviews all refer to taste and consistency.

Flavor & Consistency
Speaking as someone with Anosmia (I have only 10% of my sense of smell/taste), these are a definitely, noticeably cinnamon. Yes, they burn, the lips especially, and have about 4 times the flavor of a stick of big red. The flavor is notably long-lasting, and the toothpicks are as hard as shish kebab skewers.

Anti-smoking
For those interested in using these as a way to assist in quitting smoking (as I am), they work. Period. Cinnamon, unlike mint, is a natural craving-inhibitor for nicotine (ever see cinnamon-flavored cigarettes? How about menthols?). They satisfy the craving, neutralize the oral fixation, and are ideal if you, like myself, light up as soon as your car is in gear. I'd advise you keep a few tubes in the car (free air freshener too), and start in on one when you put on your seatbelt.

All in all
These are worth the buy. Why only 4 stars? Because I'm disabled in my senses of smell and taste, and they're simply not strong enough for me (don't let that stop you; my fiancé can't suck one for more than 3-5 seconds), and 19 bucks for sticks of wood soaked in cinnamon oil IS a bit steep. My final advice: if you really, really like cinnamon and/or want to quit smoking, and you have the means, these are worth it over Harmon's. You get what you pay for.

Guided Imagery In Hypnosis
Guided imagery is a specific practice in hypnosis whereby a subject is asked to envision certain items or scenarios. This method is particularly effective when correcting health problems or negative behaviors. For example, imagine you have a fear of flying. With guided imagery, your hypnotherapist may ask you to envision riding in a plane that is held aloft by a pair of giant hands. Ideally, the next time you fly, you will remember this feeling of safety and your fears will diminish.
