Naturally Playful Sand Table

After countless hours of research, we finally broke down and purchased this sandbox. It has a pretty solid construction, it took a few tries to get the legs in during assembly, but that is all the assembly that is required. It is pretty sturdy and doesn't shake or wobble. This sand box is not going anywhere anytime soon. It comes with a cover which is secured by two elastic hoops. So far it has managed to keep bugs and animals out, but it is not water proof. After a good rain I opened it to find the sand inside had become damp. It managed to keep the majority of the rain out so it is not filled with water. To be honest, the damp sand is better to play with. We are pleased with the purchase and would recommend this product to anyone.

Our boys love this! WE got it for the little one's birthday in 2007 to encourage sensory play. (We have two with sensory issues) But this sand table has helped with imagination and sharing too.

The lid is great so we can keep out the neighborhood cats that like to wander into the yard. However, it doesn't keep the rain water out completely. Typically we have to let it dry out in the sun for a day or two.

They play with their hot wheels on the lid and in the sand. They have enough room to dig and play construction. And it just goes on and on.

We found that using coarse sand instead of play sand works better with our boys. The play sand is too smooth and doesn't shape like the coarse sand. And it takes 2 bags of sand to fill.

The only thing wrong with this toy is that when it rains, it collects water in it. Which will eventually blend with the sand so you don't need to add water for building castles etc. Just don't really like that the water puddles in it making a mess of slop.

I bought this sandbox for my grandaughter when she visits. I had previously bought her one for her 2nd birthday which was a big hit with all the children at her party. That being her new favorite toy I thought it would be a good idea to have one at grandma's also. The sandbox was easily put together, is sturdy and has a nice tie down lid to keep out the rain and animals. I like that it is on legs so I can easily pull up a chair and play with her. Would definitely recommend this sandbox.

Well made EXCEPT holes in cover for elastic tie-downs are in such a position that rain water flows through holes and directly into sand! Fortunately this defect is easily corrected by filling holes with Silicone Caulking made for exterior use.
