A bit flaky2009-03-21
So far this has worked inconsistently. I have another charger and batteries from some solar lights and I get inconsistent results. Some times the other batteries do not want to charge in this unit. If I charge them in the ohter unit (a slow charge unit), they seem to then work okay. When it does work it does charge in about an hour.
Hundreds of chargers used and this one is the best so far.2008-04-21
I am not big on writing online reviews. I do feel compelled to write one for this charger though. I am an online retailer in business full time since 1999. I do not sell chargers or batteries but use a lot of them. I sell photo gear and get things in large lots. This charger came with one camera I purchased and it is the best charger I have ever had. Last night I unplugged it, reloaded batteries, plugged it in and DEAD, did NOT work. I was so bummed I went looking for a new one, found this one, but before purchasing decided to try and repair the broken one. What I have found is that one of the internal contacts that connects the outlet prongs to the board when in the plug in position was bent. The one closest to the board was manufactured slightly off center. Bending that closer to the other one and cleaning the contacts fixed it. There are two screws on the back, one between the plug in prongs and the other under the sticker on the back. Remove both, pull the circuit board straight out, bend the prong mentioned above closer to the other, clean the two prongs on the side that makes contact with the wall plugs with a pencil eraser, clean all the battery contacts with an eraser, put it back together and it should work. I hope this helps someone out. I don't like to just throw stuff away.
Thank you,

Ultra Rapid Charger warranty & reliability2007-10-30
This charger has a limited 3 year warranty. Warning: if you do not register the product within 30 days of purchase, the warranty is good for 1 year only. I purchased it on March 9, 2006. The charger stopped working on Oct 29, 2007. It had moderate usage during that time (maybe once a month for 4 AA batteries). It was easy to use and worked fairly well while it worked. I would not purchase from this company again. Based on this experience, I would not trust the quality and reliability of their products.
2 or 4 at a time2007-10-30
4 leds but it says in small print 2 or 4 at a time. Very little info on package. Says "Hi speed" but does not mention hours. Nice easy to open clamshell package though, nice little tab.
Just from the above, it has the telltale Made in China quality that makes me afraid to try it. I'm leaning to getting a Sony instead.
Look at how much technical info Amazon gives you on this one?????

It's worthwhile to white balance every time you use your camera to get the highest quality video. If your camera doesn't have this feature, it may have an automatic or internal system. What white balancing does is adjust the intensity of the colors being recorded according to the existing light. Make sure you white balance every time the lighting conditions change; if you record video inside and then go outside, your lighting conditions have changed and you need to instruc ...
Audio & Video Connections Guide
" For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three." - Alice Kahn This quote is certainly applicable to consumer electronics. From the very first commercially produced radios to the latest in high-definition television technology, the manner in which the components used to deliver our news, music, movies and entertainment are interconnected seems to have escaped logic. For both the newcomer and the old hand alike, connecting equipment in the most efficient and effective manner can be a painful chore. It is hoped this article will improve your background knowledge concerning potential A/V system connection schemes and where each is most appropriate. The next time you find yourself in a "connectivity quandary" perhaps the ideas shared here will help you to quickly solve the riddle of which wire goes where and why!
