The Best and so Loud
2008-08-31These speakers are so easy to use, portable and can get so loud, I won't dare try to take it to the maximum volume. I take them everywhere I go with my laptop. I also like the way the volume starts on mute when you first plug them in and if you pause your video or music on the computer, the speakers go into a power save mode (I use the battery power instead of the plug). I use them all the time and still haven't needed to replace the batteries. The soft case it comes with is very convenient. I ordered them after reading other reviews. They really are the best.

Excellent sound
2008-08-30These speakers fold up and have a carrying pouch. They are excellent for travel. The sound is great and well worth the money. I would buy them again.

Exact what I need in the classroom
2008-08-30I spend all my time teaching things about design, art, photo & fashion. I like to do it with videos, animations, etc, in order to be on 'the times'. These little speakers provide a extremely sharp sound, filling the classroom, without distortion even if I turned the volume up. The convenient design is about the same size and shape of a portable liquor bottle. The y provide with it a convenient flannel purse where you can put it away, avoiding scratching -the surface is particular brilliant.
I never get it for the description here, but it was a very pleasant surprise to discover that if you pull a little arrow in the bottom there is a place where you can hide four AA batteries, making it even more portable: you can use the energy cord or the battery....

Great with any MP3 Player
2008-08-27JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System ( Black )
I got this for my Sansa e250 MP3 Player, wanting to be sure it was not proprietary, ie, just for the iPod. It works great and the sound is smooth, rich, and vibrant. I am totally amazed that a system so small delivers such wonderful, distortion free, pure sound. The Product Description is accurate, truthful, and provides full details. Truly a great product!

The Best $34.95 Portable Speaker System
2008-08-25I found the JBL On Tour Portable Speaker via Amazon's Gold Box special for $34.95. With its sliding hide-away speaker cover, this sleek system matches up well with my Sony MP3 player without any complications. Surprisingly it pumps out a rich, crystal clear sound at 3 watts per channel and works well in a 12' x 14' space. Not bad for a portable system. Its not much of a space grabber at 7" x 1.4" x 3.5". Weighing in at a mere 12 ounces it packs up easily. Don't forget to pack up the AC adapter.
