never be without it
2008-08-22I treat this like gold in my makeup bag.
whatever eye concealer i wear, this goes over it to set it. (often I wear Laura Mercier secret concealer)
regular face powder will dry out the eye area, and get creepy like... while this does not. if I'm in a low makeup day, i use concealer on the eye area, even the lid and then top with this powder in all those spots and its the perfect no makeup me but better. instantly i look so much better its amazing. it might be that my brush a helps with application too. i use one from aveda. the recommended one from Laura Mercier probably works just as great too.

Settles in all the lines
2008-05-25After reading the positive reviews, particularly from the makeup artist, I decided to order the Secret Brightening Powder. I should know better, but this POWDER sounded different than any other. Well, I got it home, and patted it on, just a tiny bit; INSTANT WRINKLES!! I looked 10 years older. The first ingredient is Talc, so there you go. I don't know how it is possible that other women with lines under their eyes do not have this product settle in them. I am so disappointed, now I have to return the powder, wasting more time and money.

Concealer setting powder
2008-04-04This is a great product. It sets my concealer so it lasts all day. I typically never touch up makeup and with this, no need to. My biggest beef is the shipping! I bought three items and had to pay $5.95 each for three very small items!!! I will never buy this brand again for that reason. And this was after I asked if they would combine the packages.

Love It!!!
2007-11-29I am a 33 y.o., very light/yellowish skinned caucasion, with very, VERY dark eye circles (the man at the Laura Mercier counter, when he removed some of my under eye concealer, said "Oh my, you DO have dark circles under there!!") and I have been searching for a good coverup/powder combo for years. On top of my circles, I also have fine lines and deep set eyes, so my makeup tends to crease, especially when I smile, and the amount of concealer I use, along with pwder to set, historically leaves the area under my eyes a strange orangey color, even with a concealer that matches my skin tone.
But no more! I recently re-ordered this product after running out, and in the interim I noticed what a difference this product makes, not only under my eyes, but in how that area effects the look of my whole face!!! It is so lightweight that I use a tiny bit on an eye shadow brush (I didn't buy their brush, just use a regular eye shadow brush) and it holds my conealer all day, doesn't let it settle into my wrinkles, and somehow makes my face look amazing!! I LOVE THIS POWDER!!! I'll never be without it again!!

Used for Fours Years and Still Love It
2007-02-16This is a fine silky powder with no color so it doesn't alter your other makeup colors.

Worst Dressed at the Emmy Awards 2005
From Björk's swan dress to Lara Flynn Boyle's tutu, bad fashion choices have made red carpet headlines, and this year's Emmy Awards didn't disappoint. For every Desperate Housewives star (including Nicollette, who surprised us by cleaning up her act), there were plenty of frizzy hairstyles and unexplainable 'dos. Gowns with ruffles, strange patterns and unflattering colors swept through. See our picks for the worst dressed at the Emmys, browse our best dressed list and tell us if you agree.
Sexy Celebrity Updos
Some days are too steamy to wear your hair down your back. Other days ‑- or nights ‑- you just want to look hot. Either way, it's always fun to try a new updo. We asked New York City hairstylist Bean, from Beehive Salon in Brooklyn, to guide us through these soft, sexy and elegant styles.
