DEAD OUT OF THE BOX
2008-11-23NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO TRY IT OUT. IT TURNED ITSELF OFF AFTER RUNNING FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. TRIED TO GET IT TO STAY ON MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE PACKING IT UP AND SENDING IT BACK. I RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS DECK.

Samsung DVD/VCR Combo
2008-10-08We have had this unit for over 2 years now. The DVD player has worked very well with heavy play. We have watched entire TV shows and movies with no trouble. The VCR plays pre-recorded tapes OK, but recording is a problem. We don't have Tivo or a DVR so we rely on the VCR to tape programs occasionally. We had problems after we had it for 6 months. When the tapes are played back the picture rolls like old TV's with manual tuning knobs did. We have tried all kinds of tapes in all grades with the same result. If you only want a DVD player and play only pre-recorded tapes on this unit you should be pleased. If you want to record a lot forget this unit and look elsewhere. High quality VCR's are a thing of the past.

SORRY BUT THIS PLAYER IS TERRIBLE
2008-10-02purchased in 2005, have used a lot, but it still shouldn't have died in 3 years! Will not buy Samsung product of this type ever again! Don't buy it, you'll regret it.

stylish and efficient
2007-09-12I was looking for a slim DVD player that would allow me to streamline my equipment in my home office. This Samsung made the grade. The unit is easy to operate and looks marvelous set on an acrylic shelf above my HD player. Much better than the old one that took up too much space and didn't fit into my decor.

WORTHLESS
2007-08-07We have hardly used this player and already it is broken. The DVD door will not open any longer, and to remove our son's DVD we are going to have to take the whole thing apart! We were disappointed from the get go with how SLOW it worked. It takes a long time to load and skip scenes. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! Buy another brand altogether. When we replace this one, WE WILL!
