Feature-rich for the price. Belkin is a trusted brand. No cables included.2010-03-07
This surge protector is a great value and a very feature laden product for it's type. The cord organizer is a very welcome addition. Once routed through to thier respective outlets the mass of attached AC cords no longer looks like an 'electrical porcupine' but instead as a very well designed and neat feature with very visible and immediate benefits. I've had many power strips in the past but this one extra feature has been long overdue. Remember ...."neatness counts" As you may know it has surge protection as well for RJ-11 (telephone) RJ-45 (Ethernet) and coaxial (75 ohm multimedia cable) I am currently only using the Ethernet jacks..BUT as one other reviewer mentioned, I had to hunt and search as the Ethernet jacks 'were nowhere to be found'. I nearly called Amazon for an RMA. Well after sitting on the floor pondering this and cussing a little too I somewhat reluctantly tried peeling away a 'warning label' of some sort and 'Lo and Behold" were the 2 Ethernet jacks. I saw the warning label earlier and did not attempt to remove it. After all it was there as a 'warning' so I may benefit from seeing it another time. How silly to hide the Ethernet jacks beneath a warnming label that, like me, many folks would not ever consider removing. Belkin should have had the warning label ALSO declare that the Ethernet jacks were hiding beneath. How proposterously silly and ridiculous to obfuscate them beneath a very valid warning label without declaring thier whereabouts beneath. Frankly ladies and gentelmen, it pissed me off.
Not the searching as I did find them, but the use of a warning label to hide them. The label could have easily been edited to say "The Ethernet jacks are underneath". Anyway my other complaint is that this add-on surge protector advertises Ethernet / Telephone / Coaxial surge protection and rightly so..BUT it fails to include an input jumper cable of each type so one can actually use it right out of the box. I realize the product literature does not say one way or the other if input cables are included. Many other devices that are an ADD-ON to existing systems DO INCLUDE the required cables so one can actually ADD-ON the accessory.
I had to go to the store and purchase an Ethernet cable....this is MY FAULT for not investigating more thoroughly pre-sale but live and learn. I agree with all the other reviews about number of outlets provided and spacing for wall warts etc..so no further remarks on that needed. I would still recommend this unit 100% with the foreknowledge one will need to beg borrow or buy input cables beforehand in order to actually use this product right out of the box for RJ-11, RJ-45, and Coaxial protection. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...
Belkin 12 - outlet Surge Protector2010-03-06
Once the product arrived I untangled the mess of power cords I had under my computer desk. I have used other belkin surge protectors in my office and have been satisfied with them. This was a factor in deciding to purchase this one. I really like the surge protector's number of outlets and the order they are arranged. However I believe the manufacturer could improve the mounting holes it has on the bottom for mounting the device on the wall. This is a bit challenging under a desk. I would like to see the mounting holes moved farther apart or extended to where they protrude on the ends and one could just screw it to the wall. At the very least the manufacturer could provide a sheet with the mounting hole pattern for placement. The product has worked very well. The small power transformers that I have plugged in have not become disconnected or fallen out with the protector wall mounted. I would choose this product again.
Damaged with mild fluctuations2010-02-28
After using this product for one day there were mild light fluctuations in the house. No other equipment or surge suppressor in the house was damaged but this surge suppressor stopped working. I have to seriously think about buying Belkin suppressors any more.
Technical Specifications - for those who are interested2010-02-26
For this item, BE112234-10, the box has these Technical Specifications:

Continuous Duty Electrical Rating:
125V/15A/60Hz/1875W

Maximum Energy Dissipation:
4156 Joules
H-N: 2052 Joules
H-G: 972 Joules
N-G: 972 Joules
Phone Line: 160J
Joule is a measurement o fenergy a surge protector component can absorb. A higher joule rating reflects higher-quality surge protection and longer product life.

Maximum Spike Current:
216,000A
H-N: 120,000A
H-G: 48,000A
N-G: 48,000A
Maximum spike current is measured by amperage. Higher amperage rating reflects greater absorption capacity against lightning or sudden dramatic power spikes.

UL Clamping Voltage (3-Line):
UL 1449 330V

Response Time: <1 Nanosecond
A rating of <1 nanosecond indicates a response time to prevent disturbances before harming equipment is less than 1 billionth of a second.

EMI/RFI Noise Filtration:
150kHz~100Mhz up to 75 dB Reduction
Electromagnetic interference/radio frequency interference causes AC-line contamination that leads to computer lockups, audio video interference, and data loss. The greater the decibel reduction across a wider frequency range, the greater the clean protection.

Product Features (on the back of the box):
-Includes Belkin Lifetime Product Warranty
-Features detachable clip to help you manage and hide multiple cables
-Offers secure wall-mount option for added convenience
-Protects electronics such as telephones and DSL/cable lines
-Provides 1-in, 1-out coaxial-cable protection for your home-theater equipment
-Features 1-in, 1-out RJ45 ports to protect your Ethernet connections
Response time stated nowhere2010-02-26
Belkin's site doesn't specify what the response time of this surge protector is. You can have a higher joule rating but if it takes more than 10 nano second (one hundred millionth of a second) for it to respond, it won't provide much protection to your electronics. I see response time rating for lower priced surge protectors on their web site, and from that one may "conclude" that this higher priced item should be equal or better. From the warranty (though pretty much useless) of $300K for connected devices stated for this product, one could assume it has a faster response time than 10 nano seconds.

I wrote to Belkin's customer service, and they themselves couldn't find the data for response time for this product. If a company cannot state specifications for its own products, it tells a lot about that company. I also searched the web and couldn't find this info.

If anyone could find this spec anywhere, please respond to this review with that info. If response time is indeed good, then the other specs make this a compelling product to buy.

A Quick Look At the Professional Digital Camcorder
Introduction Professional digital camcorders are better than your analog camcorder, or even your digital video camera. The advancements that have been made in the camcorder industry are amazing. Just like everything else they keep getting more and more advanced, and shrinking in size. Even though we have seen much advancement, the price keeps getting more and more affordable. Professionals are not the only ones who can now enjoy the wonderful benefits of a professional -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A professional digital camcorder allows creativity and quality to meet, and the cost is far lower than it was only a few years ago. Even in the late 1990's most professionals were using Betamax professional quality analog recorders, though the professional digital camcorder was starting to come into its own back then. In 1997 at a press conference in Roswell, New Mexico during the 50th anniversary of the historic alleged UFO crash ...
Digital cameras are good for the environment
As we consider the digital camera revolution that has taken place over the last decade, most people think about it in terms of enhanced benefits for consumers. We can take a lot more pictures at much lower cost with digital cameras versus film cameras. We can also more easily manipulate and share those photos since they're all in the digital realm. But one thing many people don't think about actually deserves mention as potentially the most profound effect of the digital camera revolution: how digital cameras greatly reduce the destructive impact on the environment compared to film cameras. At first, you might think, "How can that be? My film camera didn't harm the environment!" Even though it wasn't your camera that harmed the environment, your film processing did indeed harm it. Any time you take your pictures to a photo processing center, that film is run through batches of chemicals. These chemicals are environmental hazards, and once they are used to process film, those chem ...
