Fantastic little projector
2009-11-09I have had this unit for almost 3 years of trouble-free viewing. Never even had to change the bulb, though that is coming pretty soon. This is my third projector, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a simple, inexpensive way to watch movies at home. HDTV looks great too.
well satisfied at 720p and HD-DVD upconversion
2009-07-28It has been 18 months since I purchased this unit (shortly after I bought the Toshiba HD-DVD A35 and the Onkyo sr705 HD receiver from Amazon) HDMI cabling set things in full motion> The darkened room is essential but this setup shines for a low budget home theater under $2k. Absolutely no performance problems with any of these products.
Sorry, but it will spoil you when you go back to the public cinema and see the "low resolution" of the first run movies> They appear absolutely blurry whether on film or Sony digital @ what seems like about 480p resolution. The Toshiba DVD upconversion looks so good that I don't miss the lack of new HD-DVD titles. Blu-Ray-DVD is at best comparable to DVD (on HD-DVD)-certainly not better. Toshiba really missed the mark when it quit, which is why the remaining HD-DVD players still sell for a premium new or used. Xbox, HD cable TV channels and Apple TV movie downloads round out the home performance. Must be why all my son's friends want to come to our house for gaming and my daughter's for movies.
Great Projector
2009-03-16This is one of the best projectors for the price. It's much brighter than most projectors. I watch HD television and Blu Rays on this projector and it looks great. I highly recommend this product.
