Need a USB Hub? Choose this one- It's AWESOME!
2010-03-03I wanted to have at least 6 USB ports available on my all in one media center pc and was replacing one I had had for quite some time. I ordered this one because of the way it looked and good user reviews. When I got it, I was surprised by how small it was and just how solid it feels. When plugged in, it glows with a soft blue light indicating power is on and all systems are go. This hub allows me to plug in 4 of my components that are always plugged in to the back and provides me with 3 additional slots for anything I need to connect to my computer from time to time such as phones, cameras and iPods. All in all this is a stylish very functional USB hub and I would recommend it to anyone looking to add more USB ports to any system!

Best USB hub ever
2010-03-01My old SanDisk 7-port powered hub from about 4 years ago finally started flaking out and stopped recognizing my peripherals, and initially I purchased a D-Link hub to replace it. As soon as I plugged that in, it was worse than the old fried SanDisk. It even caused one of my external hard drives to stop mounting somehow, even though I never even plugged that drive into the D-Link. It also caused all sorts of weird behavior with all my peripherals. I returned it immediately and bought this one.
Even my trusty old SanDisk had never been able to handle all my peripherals at once, and I'd never even bothered trying to plug the more power-hungry devices into it. I didn't think any USB hub could handle that. But this one can. I have a first generation Macbook Pro, and connected to this hub currently are: Wacom Intuos 4 tablet, M-Audio Axiom 25 MIDI keyboard, Das keyboard, Epson printer, Epson scanner, SanDisk multi card reader, and occasionally a USB flash drive. This solid hub has yet to even wince. I still haven't plugged in my 500 GB external drives, especially the one that is not wall-wart powered, but I wouldn't be surprised if this hub could even handle those. Maybe I'll get another one and chain them together. But I don't really need nor want to mount all four external drives at once.
This hub's aluminum construction is more substantial, even the ports seem to grip my USB cables more firmly, and the quality seems to be above and beyond anything I've experienced in a USB hub before. This is the hub I've always wished existed but hadn't found.

Absolutely love this USB HUB
2010-03-01I really like this USB Hub. Since my computer only had three ports, and I was purchasing a lot of USB enabled equipment a Hub became a necessity. I also knew I would need something powered so I could easily hook up an external hard drive to it. This little hub was perfect for my needs. It is small, so it does not take up a lot of room and was easily mounted on my wall. It easily powers the products I need without getting hot. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Flimsy, Unreliable
2010-02-26From day one, this hub was a disappointment. Poor power stability led to lots of unmounting drives, a flimsy construction (especially around the power jack). For the price, I expected something much more reliable. There are better ones out there. I won't stray from Belkin next time.

Works well without the power adapter
2010-02-23Although I never hooked it up with the power adapter, it works just as fine aside from a printer,a webcam, my magicJack, a mouse and an external hardrive (Seagate 1 terabyte) hooked up to it. This replaced a squid-like hub bought from China that never worked. My main concern was the magicJack that needed to be hooked up to a usb port on my laptop (as recommended) as well as the external hardrive but, hey, they all worked fine as well. Although pricey, I waited a while for the $30 price to go down but because it had good reviews, went ahead anyway. Have this for a year now and just hooked up a second printer.

Digital cameras are good for the environment
As we consider the digital camera revolution that has taken place over the last decade, most people think about it in terms of enhanced benefits for consumers. We can take a lot more pictures at much lower cost with digital cameras versus film cameras. We can also more easily manipulate and share those photos since they're all in the digital realm.
But one thing many people don't think about actually deserves mention as potentially the most profound effect of the digital camera revolution: how digital cameras greatly reduce the destructive impact on the environment compared to film cameras.
At first, you might think, "How can that be? My film camera didn't harm the environment!" Even though it wasn't your camera that harmed the environment, your film processing did indeed harm it. Any time you take your pictures to a photo processing center, that film is run through batches of chemicals. These chemicals are environmental hazards, and once they are used to process film, those chem ...
