Samsung's user-friendly point-and-shoot S630 digital camera combines advanced image processing technology and quality optics with a straightforward, uncluttered user interface and stylish ergonomic design. The S630 simplifies the picture-taking process to let you capture images without worrying about adjusting multiple settings. Samsung's ASR image stabilization system helps to reduce camera shake and image blur during longer exposures and in situations where holding the camera steady is impossible or a tripod is unavailable. The S630 features a built-in microphone, which allows a 10-second voice memo to be attached to any still image. Slide Show automatically scrolls through photos and displays them on a bright and vivid 2.5-inch TFT LCD screen. The camera's Movie mode lets users capture video in one of two resolutions, 320 x 240 and 640 x 480 at 15 frames per second in AVI (MJPEG) format. Just as in still-picture mode, the ASR image stabilization system can be engaged to compensate for unwanted camera movement and subject blur in movie mode. If you have a problem with short battery life AND assuming you are using High Output NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (if not go get a set first) then follow these steps 1) Camera ON 2)Press "Menu OK" 3)Go to "Setup 2" 4) Scroll down to "Battery Type" 5)Change this to "NiMH" 6)Press "Menu OK" to save. Assuming good battery quality and full charge you should now be able to take A LOT more pictures. Many thanks to my mom whose camera was taking only 5-15 pics on a charge. CHEERS!
Terrible...2009-03-12
For about a month, my Samsung worked O.K. (given the frequent battery changes--to lithium) but after that, this camera turns on for about 4 seconds and then beeps 3 times and shuts off. The end. I'm thoroughly dissapointed.
Good camera for kids2009-01-06
I bought two of these cameras for my kids. They are easy to use and have a variety of use options (timer, video, still shots). My one critique is they burn through batteries fairly fast, so use rechargeable AA's instead of disposable!

Not the best camera in the world, but it is pretty inexpensive. Battery life is absolutely HORRIBLE, I have to change them very often. Good for kids or preteens.

Had it for months and then it started to go through the batteries. Tried all kinds rechargable as well. Now the pics won't download to PC.
DO NOT GET THIS CAMERA......I have emailed Samsung and never get a return...this will be the last Samsung product I buy!
