It fits my underwater case--and it's OK--that's all--OK2010-02-19
I bought an identical camera 2+years ago, and an Ikelite UW case (more expensive than the camera). The camera is now outdated, but the case is specific for camera model. So, I needed another backup camera. The video, pictures, etc. are OK, not great, but good enough, and especially for underwater use.

That's it.

Fatastic Camera and I am using the same one since june 2007....night mode not good2009-12-19
This was my first ever digi cam. I bought it in June 2007. So its been more than 2 yrs now and I am having no issues with this Canon baby. I would surely recommend this cam to everyone.

All in all , it has been a fantastic camera for the last 2 yrs of my use and still going well.

Only issue I have found is when you shoot in night-mode , the images get blured and photo objects get mixed with each other.

Great camera. I have been very pleased with it. A friend dropped it while we were on a cruise and we were able to order the part to fix it. But before then the camera continued to take great pictures even after the damage. Awesome!
Good pictures but....2009-07-14
I purchased this camera a few years ago. It has taken good pictures overall (it's not an slr quality of course). I liked the size and feel of it in my hands. It has the neccesary features I was looking for such as red eye, sport, and movie abilities. The down side to this camera is after a year the shutter had trouble closing and so the lens would get dirty. I also noticed that it was getting slower to capture each picture.
Not a better point and shoot available2009-06-01
I love this camera. It produces the most amazing pictures. No noise, sharp, stunning colors. I recently compared it to a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot, and the Panasonic came out the loser by a large margin. My only problem with the 550 is that it gives me the low battery indicator light on freshly charged batteries. This is very annoying. I've found that the higher mah batteries tend to do better. I've also recently invested in a high-end battery charger to make sure that the batteries I use in the Canon are fully charged (something I can't do with the cheapy chargers that typically come for free when you buy rechargeable batteries).

My favorite setting: Manual, ISO 200, No flash. If you hold the camera steady, you'll get amazing pictures indoors and outdoors.
