Canon PIXMA iP3300 Inkjet Printer (1437B02)

This is my seoond Canon printer - the price keeps dropping and the quality of the prints keeps improving. The ink utilization is frugal. I have found the 4 ink cartridge system is much easier (and cheaper) for me as a home user than the 7 cartridge printer I had previously.
Color quality and saturation on photo paper or normal printer paper is easily controled via the print driver software preferences.
I run the printer as "shared" on a home network and an easily print from any one of 6 computers hardwired or WI-FI throughout the house (of course the host computer is on 7x24 hours all year anyway since it serves as my incoming fax.
This is a great home or low capacity, but moderate print speed printer for the low price.

This printer's speed, text and graphics are all excellent. I print about 50 pages a day and it always operates trouble-free.

I am only giving it four stars, not five, for one reason: it is no longer possible to replace the original Canon ink cartridges with cheaper compatible ink cartridges because the originals now come with a chip. That makes the cost of replacing the four ink cartridges around $55 unless you're willing to mess around with transferring the chips to a compatible cartridge yourself.

Unfortunately, the other print manufacturers have taken similar steps to prevent people from using the compatible ink.

If you do a lot of printing like I do the solution is to install a continuous ink system.

Canon color is the most accurate color I have seen in any printer. I like the fact that each of the four cartridges will only cost $11.00. Compared to my older LEXMARK which tried to make all of their money in ink sales, canon ink is reasonable. The software for the Canon PIXMA iP3300 Inkjet Printer (1437B02)is very good and installs very quickly for WIN XP. I have printed beautiful photographs on cheap dollar store photographic printer paper and the images were excellent even on cheap paper. The color reproduction could not be better, I am truly amazed at the accurate reproduction of colors. I use this printer for text as well in the fast mode and it does fine with text. I have not figured out how to use the front print tray yet. The Main print tray in the back of the printer works fine with standard letter paper and 4X6 glossy and envelopes printed from MS WORD. If you are using VISTA ( the half completed operating system project from Microsoft ) you may want to check for VISTA drivers availability for the Canon PIXMA iP3300 Inkjet Printer (1437B02) on the canon download site. Because printing photographs is so costly I prefer to use my photographic printer mainly for text and the occasional photograph, however when I scan an important document I expect that my printer will deliver a faithful reproduction and the Canon PIXMA iP3300 Inkjet Printer (1437B02)certainly does that. You will enjoy this printer on XP!

Great printer for the price. Frugal on ink and prints great photos.

I received the printer on time and found no problems with the setup.The printer has a quiet setting for printing which I like even though it takes a bit longer to print. It is a great value for the price.
