My first GSP
2008-12-03This is my first GPS system and I haven't run into any problems at all. I only plan to use my Tom Tom in my car so I have no need for a long battery life since I just keep it plugged in. I love the big screen, its the perfect size. It gets me where I need to go and around traffic jams and road closures so well. I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it to anyone!

Wonderful Product! Highly Recommended!
2008-12-03I had shopped around for GPS nav systems for a while before finally selecting the TomTom OneXL. I am so happy that I ended up with it!
I travel a lot between several Universities in the SE U.S. and having the TomTom One XL has proven invaluable in helping me find the quicker routes to the places I need to get. The crystal clear screen and great interface make it really easy to use. I've never seen a GPS lock on to satellites so quickly.
The only con to the TomTom OneXL that is short battery life (I get about 2.5 hrs). However, this is not that big of a deal since I can keep it plugged in while driving. Just make sure you don't forget to bring the power cord on long trips!
Very very happy with it! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking into purchasing their first nav GPS!

Good, not great
2008-12-03I don't have any other GPS experience so I don't have know what other systems do or don't do. This system is easy to use and the computer interface is good so updates and adding things is easy. Battery life is short so plan to plug it in and use up one of those important 12V plugs in your car. It doesn't show average speed on trip and it doesn't seem to have trip synopsis stats although I'm still figuring out some of the functionality. Basic use is quite simple and menus are clear. Price is definitely right!

Caveat Emptor
2008-12-03TomTom XL lasted 9 months. As one number on the serial number had rubbed off and I didn't have my sales slip..... Tom Tom customer service disposed of me even though I had registered on line. DON'T BUY TOM TOM ANYTHING!!!
This is not Apple Computer you're dealing with here.
