Braun Series 7- 790cc (9595) Pulsonic Shaver

So I have owned a number of manual and electric shavers/razors. This is the best purchase I have ever made. I always recommend this product to all my friends who are in the market for a razor. I thought I would half to finish off with my manual razor like I did with my old electric shaver. With the Braun it shaves closer than I did with my Mach 3/Fusion razor. It cuts very close to the skin with no irritation. And I am of Asian descent, who are usually known for having sensitive skin. The self cleaning makes my shaver seem likes its brand new every time I use it. You do half to buy new solution every few months, but I can usually get a two pack for $10 which is a CHEAP price to pay to have the feeling of a new shaver every morning.

As an amazon prime customer who makes purchases weekly I felt compelled to write this as my first ever product review / comparison.

The primary reason for my purchase of the Braun 9595 was that I decided to start shaving my head. In the past I have never had success with any razor for facial shaving. At least of the many electric razors that I have tried in the past never got all the hair and made me feel as if I still needed to go over it with a regular razor to get everything.

This 9595 has had rave reviews and is highly rated so I purchased it and have used it for 4 months.

After using the razor for about a month it was doing a better job than any electric razor that I had ever used. I was totally impressed based on that comparison. However for my face I would still feel that I would need to go over it with a regular razor to get the stuff that the braun could not. Also after having shaved my head now for several months it seemed like it would take a long time for the braun 9595 to get everything. In fact my head and face started feeling sensitive because I was having to vigorously go over all areas again and again. So this got me thinking that I would get another electric razor as a supplement that I could use while in the shower. I figured between the two of them I could maintain my head and face between the mirror and the shower. So after much research I landed on the Panasonic ES8243. It was half the price of the braun and I figured well how bad could it be as a supplement and backup to the braun.

Now having used the Panasonic for a month all I can say is wow! It is not my supplement it is the only one that i want to use. It is better than the braun in every way!

Compared side by side it is totally obvious.

The Panasonic gets MUCH closer in far less time and most is done with one pass. It can be used wet or dry in the shower and does equally well in both situations. I can shave with the braun and then follow up with the Panasonic and easily see how much the braun missed. The truth is these two razors are not even close to being in the same league.

I still have both but have no idea where the braun even fits into my shaving any longer. I did not expect this to be the case.

I had used a traditional 3 headed Norelco electric shaver for over 10 years and was used to the quality of shave it provided not knowing how close a real electric shaver could shave. Then I tried the Braun Series 7 shaver and my face has not felt so smooth since I was a kid! I have received a couple of complements on my smooth skin from girlfriends too which is an added bonus! I highly recommend this shaver and will not return to the Norelco!!

It worked fine for 11 months. Went to shave and it was dead even though it had been charging for most of the day. I researched and found other people had same problem. I am dreading the hassle I know awaits me of trying to get this fixed. Sorry Braun, for years I used your products but $200+ for 11 months can by me a lot of disposable razors. Before buying read the reviews (1 star and 2 star) to balance out the higher scores. I rated it highly too, at first.

Over the last 20 plus years I have owned at least 5 different Braun shavers and a couple of Norelcos. One or two in the bunch were noteworthy. All I used more than a year. I read these positive reviews with sceptisim to say the least. I bit the bullet and ordered this razor.

Bar None this is the Best razor that I have ever used. It provides the closet, quickest shave of any of the Braun's I have owned in the past. In fact it gets so close that there is a spot under my nose that appears I waxed my face! That is a bit irritating and somewhat surprising. I have to stop shaving for a few days to let the hair grow back to even out my normal 5 O'clock shadow. Get this, I actually look forward to shaving now. Previously I needed to touch up my face with a blade (dry) to get those hard to shave spots under my jawline right by my ears and on my neck. This razor gets them all with no trouble. Simpy amazing.

As with all electric razors daily use is critical to get them to work well. Second tip-Do not wash your face before shaving. Third tip-Do not shave first thing in the morning as the face is swollen from sleep and needs time to return to normal.

If you use an electric shaver, even though this one is pricey it has been absolutley the best I have owned.
