Great deal, awesome product2009-07-04
I got this battery grip today and for $80 it's really a steal. It comes with 2 batteries and the grip. The grip itself does not feel "very cheap" as others would say. It feels and looks pretty much like the Nikon MB-D80. My friend has the Nikon grip and I really can't feel a big difference. The nikon shutter button is very sensitive, while the opteka has that little resistance right after you focus, and then clicks well to shoot the photo. Battery hinge works fine and the grip stays in put well. The grip makes the camera look better and makes it much better and comfortable to hold. No more worrying about dead batteries!

Only con are the vertical switch dials. They aren't too smooth, but it's no big deal.

Now the only test is the test of time.
How to charge Opteka batteries?2009-06-24
I have not ideas how to charge those two Opteka batteries when I used up the power. it does not fit Nikon charger at all.
anyone know how to charge them?
Excellent Grip2009-06-13
I debated for about a month on what grip to purchase, and visited a store that had the Nikon grip so I could touch / feel it. In the end I ordered the Opteka grip having never touched it. The Amazon return policy gives the consumer the ability to take small risks in their purchase.
When I received the grip, it was delivered as ordered and all the promised components were present. I shoot a Nikon D-90 and upon attaching the grip found that it mated perfectly with the camera body and set up instantly.
I waited a while to write a review, as I wanted to see how the batteries performed and if any 'glitches' popped up. No glitches, and the batteries have the same exceptional life as the Nikon brand.
The only insignificant negative I found was the battery door, it seems to rattle. I solved this problem in about 2 seconds by placing a small piece of thin closed cell foam in the door track on the upper corners. Now I have to press in a little to lock the compartment. Now I think it is perfect it feels like a very positive closure.
Good Buy !
A little wide...2009-05-08
its actually uncomfortable to hold because it is so wide. and it feels cheap. But it gets the job done. And the price is right, plus shipping was extremely fast!
Cheap Plastic but Ga Great Value2009-04-09
So....this is an excellent value for a couple of new batteries with a grip thrown in for a little bit more money. The trigger shutter button is not very smooth and the plastic feels cheap and light in your hands. But heck, for the money, its a real steal! Like other reviewers have said, "it does the job you expect of it to do." Worth it if you need to look cool, have a grip, and do it on a budget. It also works flawlessly with D90.

Driving with a cell phone is a lot less dangerous than driving on prescription drugs
There's a lot of debate today about the safety of using cell phones while driving. Statistics show that those who use cell phones while driving cause a much greater percentage of accidents than those who avoid using their cell phones. And the studies have shown that it's not just the physical coordination required to punch numbers into the cell phone while you're trying to work the vehicle that causes accidents; it's actually the lack of attention resulting from driving and talking on the cell phone at the same time. It seems that when you're distracted, you're more likely to cause accidents. In terms of public safety, it's probably correct to say that banning cell phones would reduce the number of traffic accidents. But I think, more accurately, it depends on the person. Some people are operating on, shall we say, lower power CPUs in their heads to begin with. They might be zoned out on prescription drugs, and when you add a cell phone to the equation, they do become a danger to the ...
