Heat makes all the difference!!
2008-10-19I own the previous model to this and did not find it all that effective. After reading the reviews I decided to buy this, which seems identical except heat was added. The heat has made a huge difference and makes it so much more effective. I am so glad I upgraded.
Although I have not tried the higher model (quad), from reading the reviews and from experience, I think this is a better choice in order to focus the massage at one spot.
I would give it 5 stars but for two points. I have to sit on a cushion to get it all the way down to my lower back just above the SI joints. Also, one improvement would be to make the width adjustable in shiatsu mode.
Once again, well worth the upgrade.

Love the Shiatsu rolling mechanism!
2008-09-23I was very wary when I bought this massager. Read many different reviews for similar items, but went with this one (reviewers rated the 400 model as inferior even though it has 4 rolling mechanisms). I'm glad I bought this! The shiatsu mode really kneads out the knots in my back, and I love that you can target in on one spot. The rolling mode feels too weak for me, but that's a personal opinion, since my sister has said it's quite harsh for her. I just had a baby 3 months ago and have been dying of back pains. Of course, with a newborn there is no time to go out and get massages, so this chair is a wonderful stand-in. I can sit there and get a massage while watching tv or even feeding the baby! I have something to look forward to every night before I wind down and when baby is finally asleep! Just a note, I am 5'5" and the rollers reach up to my shoulder blades. I found that to be just perfect.

Good purchase, very straight-forward
2008-08-26Comes with two main settings - rolling and shiatsu - and you can basically control where you want it to massage on your back. Only complaint is that it doesn't account for the contours of your back so you have to adjust it on the chair that you strap it onto. Overall, very satisfied with the product. I even purchased one for my parents - they love it.

Oh My Back!
2008-07-29We tried the cheaper seats, but all they do is make noise. This actually makes you feal better. Deep massage. My husband uses it every day. He keeps it right on the sofa in the living room. We were skeptical, but figured if it didn't do anything, we would send it back. He was surprised. I am happy that he gets such usage from it. Brooklyn.

Works For Me
2008-07-17While waiting for a prescription in CVS, I tried the 200 model and I was impressed. Later I tried a newer model in Costco and I was equally impressed. The model in the store is no longer available and on their website, they only offer a SBM-350H that I ordered. After using it for three days I was not impressed. IMO this unit does not go as high up the shoulders as the SBM-300H model. Some of the other reviewers mentioned this as well. I am returning it since I purchased the SBM-300H model from another store for the same price as the Costco model. I have to use a towel over the top of the unit since the pressure was too hard for me. With the towel in place it is working great. I appreciate all the reviews that helped me make my decision.

Plus Size Mobility Scooters
For those patients that need a mobility scooter, but weigh more than the standard limit of 250 pounds, other types of scooters are available. Plus size, or heavy duty, mobility scooters are available for larger individuals, with weight ranges from limits of 350 pounds to 500 pounds. These scooters are ideal for bariatric patients who are unable to move about freely because of their size. Most companies make scooters in this higher capacity style, with some companies such as Pride mobility scooter offering full ranges of styles in their heavy duty scooters. The higher capacity mobility scooters come in both three and four wheel styles, with a full accompaniment of accessories for their models.
Patellar Tracking Disorder
Topic Overview
What is patellar tracking disorder?
Patellar tracking
disorder is a condition in which the kneecap (patella) shifts out of place as
the leg bends or straightens. In most cases, the kneecap shifts too far toward
the outside of the leg, although in a few people it shifts toward the
inside.
Your knee joint is a complex hinge joining the lower leg bones
(tibia and fibula) with the thighbone (femur). The kneecap (patella) is held in
place in the front of the knee joint by
tendons on the top and bottom and by
ligaments on the sides. A layer of
cartilage lines the underside of the kneecap, helping
it glide along the groove at the end of your thighbone. The kneecap can shift
or rotate off track if the groove is too shallow or if the cartilage is
damaged. Ligaments, tendons, or muscles that are too loose or too tight may
also lead to a misaligned kneecap.
