Customer Reviews

This is a case of exeptional marketing, not exceptional playing
2010-02-20Christmas list 2009 started in early November with one idea.... Crayola Color Explosion.
Everytime some friendly person would ask my daughter what she wanted for Christmas, it was the same answer. Two Santas interviewed this little girl and both times the Crayola folks said, ca-ching!
The Color Explosion board promised to be a beacon of color bright, a wipe erase board with flashing neon light.
Sadly, it sits in her room on the bookcase. Unloved, unused, and overblown.
The two plexi-glass boards work too hard to remove and insert for a Pre-K Kid. The magic markers are noticibly less vibrant than the souped-up model on pre Christmas commercials. The concept is cool, the execution is, not so much.
When asked if she likes, my daughter rather sadly stated, "not so much."
I hate when childhood dreams are dashed. This happened to me with a Barbie product in 1984. The waning hours of Christmas day light were as deflating as my noisy, clunky, plastic toy. It happens to us all...

Enjoyable
2010-02-17My five year old daughter really likes the arts and craft stuff. This game she plays with occasionally, but not as much as I thought she would.

Crayola Glow Board
2010-02-08Once she understood how to do it, our daughter had a great time with this 3D drawing board.

Glow Board!
2010-01-21I like this toy, but it is a pain!
I hate having to clean the screens, keep the markers together, etc etc
It's fun to color, but then once you color, it takes much more tie to clean up and then color again.
Too much time involved with clean-up

It's a great idea, but.....
2010-01-14We purchased this for my 6 year old (very artistic) boy. He absolutely loves it. It's a great idea, but the markers are completely worthless. He played with the board for about 2 hours the first day and by the second day, the markers were dried up. We made sure when he put them away that the caps were on tightly and pointed down. Prepare yourself to look everywhere for replacement markers too. I can't seem to find them anywhere (unless I want to purchase another Glow Board.) It is somewhat difficult to clean, and we have to help him clean the screens. If the project hasn't been on the screen too long, it comes off easily with a damp paper towel, but if left over night, prepare to get the dish soap out and scrub a bit!
It is a neat idea, but with poor execution. It would be cool if Crayola made this board compatible with some of their other markers (maybe something easily replaceable?)
