Great little projector. I don't know how well it would work in a large auditorium, but it's great for home movie nights and family/church type slideshows. THRILLED with the price!
This is an excellent product!2009-01-06
I purchased this projector as a gift for my fiancee, since we are both teachers and love using powerpoint. Over Christmas we decided to open it and watch some movies on it. The quality was excellent. We hooked up some speakers and a sub-woofer and are now debating not even bringing it to schools (Hey kids, let's do overheads!) I had been nervous that there were other "more hi-tech" versions around but I figured it was only going to be used for powerpoints, but it's definitely a good home theater projector as well. We watched Dark Knight, Heroes, and even played Rock Band for Wii. The built in speakers worked well for the wii since we can't hook up the speakers (or haven't figured it out yet). They were definitely loud enough to rock out, even over the banging of the drums. An excellent buy and well worth the money. Only wish I could purchase an extended warranty on the thing. I know how much replacement bulbs cost, but these seem to be the cheaper end of the spectrum. Definitely worth the money, and I'm considering buying one for myself!
Good Projector2009-01-06
Nice picture for the price. I use it to connect to Directv, Playstation, and Dvd Player. The projector itself isn't the prettiest thing to look at but it does produce a nice picture. You need to buy a VGA to Component and I use a splitter since there is only one VGA(computer) input. Overall this is a good entry level projector considering it's low resolution 800x600. Bulbs are inexpensive and can be changed without having to unmount the projector from the ceiling.
For The Price, You Can't Ask For Better!2008-12-18
I just recently purchased this projector. At first, I was a little skeptical because most reviewers use this product for business-related purposes. I did a little bit more research, and it seemed that this projector would still serve the purpose I was looking for.

I live in a studio, so my place is pretty small. The reason for getting a projector is because I love watching movies and TV on a big screen (especially sports). The screen is approximately 100", and every detail is amazingly sharp! The projector has all sorts of video inputs (VGA, S-Video, Composite), so I use this projector for everything. I hook up my laptop to it, my DirecTV HD receiver, as well as my Xbox 360. This projector can support HD up to 1080i, but unfortunately the projector downscales HD to 800 x 600 (which is the projector's native resolution). Still, on a screen that big, who can tell the difference? I certainly can't!

This projector doesn't have component or HDMI inputs, so you'll need to purchase a cable which is a component-to-VGA cable/adapter. You can easily pick one up for $15 at a local audio/video store, and it definitely serves the purpose. That's how I managed to hook up my DirecTV HD receiver to my projector and it looks pretty darn good!

The internal speaker this projector has is certainly no good. You're better off buying a set of external speakers and hooking it up. Unfortunately, there are no audio outputs from the projector, so you'll have to hook up your speakers directly through the device you're getting your video signal from. If you can manage that, it's totally worth it!

This projector was a great investment, as it serves every purpose I was looking for. Movies look fantastic, HD channels look sharp and my Xbox 360 games look brilliant and vastly colorful. Since I don't use it for business purposes, I can't really comment on how good it would be during a meeting, but I'm sure it will do the job.

If you're looking for a decent priced projector, this may be exactly what you're looking for!

Driving with a cell phone is a lot less dangerous than driving on prescription drugs
There's a lot of debate today about the safety of using cell phones while driving. Statistics show that those who use cell phones while driving cause a much greater percentage of accidents than those who avoid using their cell phones. And the studies have shown that it's not just the physical coordination required to punch numbers into the cell phone while you're trying to work the vehicle that causes accidents; it's actually the lack of attention resulting from driving and talking on the cell phone at the same time. It seems that when you're distracted, you're more likely to cause accidents. In terms of public safety, it's probably correct to say that banning cell phones would reduce the number of traffic accidents. But I think, more accurately, it depends on the person. Some people are operating on, shall we say, lower power CPUs in their heads to begin with. They might be zoned out on prescription drugs, and when you add a cell phone to the equation, they do become a danger to the ...
