The Force is Strong With...Multiplayer?
2009-07-02Lego Star Wars is host to a multitude of small but cumulatively frustrating flaws: studs (the in-game currency) disappear too quickly to collect everything you scare up; the concept of depth is almost non-existent in some important jumping sections; vehicle controls are unforgivably loose; mission objectives are sometimes ill-defined. Even the insistent flashing of highlighted text on menus seems designed to annoy. Playing the game alone, the best you could say is that it represents an entertaining idea ("Legos plus Star Wars? How can we lose!?") hindered by poor execution.
Get a like-minded friend to pick up the second controller, though, and it's a different game. The length of time studs appear seems calibrated to multiplayer--two people working in tandem can usually collect everything before it flickers away. And a human companion is vastly superior to the single-player mode's brain-dead A.I. allies. Multiplayer has its own quirks; for example, friendly fire is always on and the auto-targeting feature likes to aim at your companion as often as the enemy, and multiplayer turns the already recalcitrant camera into one that almost gleefully obtructs your point of view. But having a second human player not only to strategize, but to laugh at the game's absurdities, lightens the mood considerably. So much so, in fact, that a game that's hard to recommend for one player could be a must-have for two.

Great Game!
2009-07-01Game is a lot of fun, shipping was quick and efficient and the game was in great condition. No scratches and the package even had the instruction manual!

sounds great, but...
2009-06-28this game sounds great and all being you play through all 6 story lines, but its Lego!its goofy and sloppy and looks ridiculous! i mean why cant they make the same type of game with all 6 stories as a regular realistic type video game? that would be f-ing sweet!

Fun For All
2009-06-27With a cartooninsh twist, this game will satisfy any young star wars fan. All movie plots 1-6 are included in this super fun game. I had great fun running through the Mos Eisley Cantina crowd, into the Hoth war zone, then back through the Cantina into a pod-racer race. This game really allowed me to fully enjoy the Star Wars universe without the dark undertones that woked great for the movies, though with a Lego video game it wouldn't work. I hope that the force will guide all of you to this great and exciting game!

Fun game with many levels
2009-06-21I bought this game for my 8 yr old son and he loves it. he got a bit bored with the Light Saber duelling game in a short time. The Lego game has a bunch of levels and you can buy characters, speeders, etc. If you are a teenager or older, it may be a little juvenile for you but for younger kids it is perfect.
