Pleo Dinosaur - A UGOBE Life Form

This is a toy, not a pet. Artificial intelligence is an oxymoron. The organization of chips, mechanics, thermoplastic material, and electrical energy, however "life-like" they may seem, do not constitute life any more than do a collection of tin cans in the sunshine. Life does not come from a battery, life comes from life. To those who think that "no cleaning up" after this so-called pet is a plus, I ask you, "Just what exactly is your quarrel with reality?" Reality, or life, is messy. So what? The rewards (such as love, generosity, and compassion) more than justify the work involved. Try it some time. And teach your children to try it, too. (A puppy would help, or even a baby brother or sister.) We all might become better humans for it.

We love Pleo! He is perfect! Especially for those who have everything, have allergies, etc. He is very "smart." He is a part of our family. The downloads are fun and frequent. His voice is recognizable by everyone who enters our home. From a family who loves to make memories each and everyday!

I bought Pleo as a birthday gift for my 2 grandsons (ages 10 and 6). I brought the first one to the restaurant where we celebrated with a birthday dinner and presented Pleo to my 10 year-old (who knew what his gift was). He couldn't wait to unwrap Pleo and awaken him (I had charged the battery beforehand). I cannot begin to tell you how mesmerzied EVERYONE in the restaurant was by Pleo. People asked if they could hold him ... the bartender wanted to keep him (we couldn't believe how Pleo would not walk off the edge of the bar) ... and my grandson did not want to let him go. This took place last week, so I can't comment as to Pleo's durability at this point in time. I am giving the second Pleo to my younger grandson on Saturday (I cannot bear to make him wait until HIS birthday in 2 weeks ... so am giving him his gift early). He is so excited ... is counting the minutes. It totally amazes me how lifelike this little dinosaur is and how sweet and lovable. Not only as a toy, but also from an emotional standpoint ... all we can say is ... PLEO ROCKS! Well worth every single penny.

Buy one, they're GREAT!

I bought our Pleo for xmas for my kids. My hope was that it would spark an interest in robotics and it was doing a great job until about a week after we bought it he went to sleep and never woke up. A million phone calls, several mailed parts, several purchases on my part to buy various testers or different card readers, and finally I got fed up and begged Pleo to let me mail him back where professionals could have a look at it and see what was wrong. It is June 5th as I write this, they called me last week to tell me he's fixed and they are mailing him back as soon as they get a new charger in stock (maybe all three that they sent me were bad). They honestly seem like they aren't a bad support crew, I feel like I probably fell through the cracks. I can't wait to get him back after months of not working so my kids can finally enjoy their xmas present. :) He seemed QUITE cool.
