Shame on SONY!!!2009-07-14
I just received this cam from Conns for $60 bucks ($50 + tax + shipping). Thought I repped the deal, but totally got wrong this time.

Sony really packaged this very well to look great. They are selling a piece of junk in a neat package. That is all... what a shame!!. Guys, don't just take the brand name for granted.

I am an engineer and I do a lot of research before buying products... especially electronics. Unfortunately..I quickly jumped on this ...seeing the price and brand name.

PROS: Looks great. That is about it.
CONS:
Video quality is horrible. Grainy on a SD television. Don't even think about putting this on a HDTV.. because HDTV extrapolate the SD format and the video looks even worse.

Low light sensitivity.... all you see is pure black. No nothing.
I tried Web Cam feature after struggling with drivers...finally I got it working with YAHOO...and all I am seeing is black except the light that is glowing bright.

Still picture... Any dumb camera with 5MP resolution can take better picture than this.

Storage... you have to buy expensive memory stick duo's.

I can't believe SONY is selling this kind of stuff only but ..to ruin their brand value.

Stay away from this Net Cam!!

If some body says this cam is great...they probably do not aware ..how wonderfully the technology has advanced in this area...or never tried other cams and compare with them (like FLIP HD or Creative HD cams for $130).

How about some decent CAMS from SANYO, SAMSUNG or CANON??

How about SANYO XACTI FH1? Can anything beat this FH1 in that price range?
Do not like this Camcorder2008-11-20
I don't like sony item any ways. I wish that the person who got this for us. Got it where will live so that we could return it. It does not take good video at all. You can not see the picture good at all too. Now I don't know what to do with it. I would not recommended this to any one at all.
so so2008-09-23
the shipping was too late.

the camera works nice, but I think that to use this as a cam is not possible.
I GOT THIS IT IS VERY NICE2008-09-06
i got this camera a year ago and its still working to this day i use it almost everyday.... one thing i love abot this is that it uses a memory stick for its memory and if u have a psp u can just put the memory stick in there and view ur videos or pics without downloading anything... the handstrap that comes with the camera is also very usefull its comfortable and doesnt feel cheap... as for the camera itself its nice small easy to navigate and its incredibly small for a videocamera and the battery lasts for a long time. the video quality is not the best.... and its not the cheapest its DECENT its gud enough, lets say that

now the only downsides are....

recording at night, does not work all that well in low lighted areas..... u cant get an extra battery for it... the battery indicator sometimes isnt very accurate but that really isnt a problem unless u are going to use ur camera for long period of time wiht out charging

overall the camera is GREAT for the price i got mine which was $100(but did not get it on amazon) dont spend over 200 on this camera...... :)
Convenient but low video quality2008-07-21
This is a convenient camcorder with its size the ease of use, though need a little time to figure out how selection button works. The video quality is not good, but uploading to Youtube is fun and easy. Overall, I like it, except the blurry video quality.

A Quick Look At the Professional Digital Camcorder
Introduction Professional digital camcorders are better than your analog camcorder, or even your digital video camera. The advancements that have been made in the camcorder industry are amazing. Just like everything else they keep getting more and more advanced, and shrinking in size. Even though we have seen much advancement, the price keeps getting more and more affordable. Professionals are not the only ones who can now enjoy the wonderful benefits of a professional -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A professional digital camcorder allows creativity and quality to meet, and the cost is far lower than it was only a few years ago. Even in the late 1990's most professionals were using Betamax professional quality analog recorders, though the professional digital camcorder was starting to come into its own back then. In 1997 at a press conference in Roswell, New Mexico during the 50th anniversary of the historic alleged UFO crash ...
