Took 1000 RAW Pictures with my a350 and still had 50% battery life!
2009-06-19Ok, I literally took over 1000 pictures. More like 1,300 over a weekend on a trip. I didn't use a flash and used the view finder instead of the lcd. But still, I was amazed to still have 55% battery life left after so many pictures. Amazing..

It does the job
2009-05-08It is a very simple product. Anyone using a DSLR needs a second battery. After the initial charge, the battery is working just great and the price at Amazon was great also.

Very good value for money
2009-04-29I am using two spare batteries for my Sony Alpha 900 camera. The battery is very powerful, but you are well advised to have at least one spare ready since the Alpha 900's consumes substantial amounts of energy when you shoot hundreds of RAWs & JPEGs. What I liked is the excellent value for money at Amazon.

Not sure why people are reviewing this...
2009-04-15Well, I'm not entirely sure why people are bothering to review this battery. If you need to buy one, you need to buy one, period. This is the only battery that works for certain models of the Sony DSLR. There are no substitutes.
You've made the choice to go with a Sony, now the choice of battery is made for you. So -- if you need one, feel free to ignore the reviews and drop some cash on it.

Best dslr battery in the world
2009-04-15I purchase two Sony NPFM500H Alpha Rechargeable Battery for my Alpha 200 with the VG-B30AM vertical grip. On a four hour period I was able to take 2225 pictures a quarter of which were RAW+JPEG and the rest JPEG. One of the battery in the vertical grip was used up and the remaining had 68% power which I guess could have given me eight hundred more pictures. From my user experience I can call the Sony NPFM500H the best battery in the world for dslr cameras.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
Digital cameras are good for the environment
As we consider the digital camera revolution that has taken place over the last decade, most people think about it in terms of enhanced benefits for consumers. We can take a lot more pictures at much lower cost with digital cameras versus film cameras. We can also more easily manipulate and share those photos since they're all in the digital realm.
But one thing many people don't think about actually deserves mention as potentially the most profound effect of the digital camera revolution: how digital cameras greatly reduce the destructive impact on the environment compared to film cameras.
At first, you might think, "How can that be? My film camera didn't harm the environment!" Even though it wasn't your camera that harmed the environment, your film processing did indeed harm it. Any time you take your pictures to a photo processing center, that film is run through batches of chemicals. These chemicals are environmental hazards, and once they are used to process film, those chem ...
