Buy something else!
2009-11-28I bought this camera and I hate it! It takes lousy pictures, they aren't clear, the image stabilization is non-existant. It eats batteries like crazy and it is always either too light or too dark on the pictures no matter how you adjust it. I won't buy Polaroid again.

Good for money
2009-10-21It's not the simplest camera to use, and the picture quality isn't the greatest. But it packs more features and value for the money than anything else I could find. I was buying it for my 12 year old, so looking for something not expensive, but not a toy. This is it.

You get what you pay for
2009-10-10I purchased this camera for my daughter's 7th birthday, with the attitude that all the children's digital cameras for which I had read reviews were about the same price as this camera, and were pretty much across the board terrible. I hoped this camera would take a bit better photos than a kid's camera, but not necessarily masterpieces. This camera takes horrible photos. When my daughter takes photos in the "auto" mode, they are almost always blurry and distorted. I tried my hand at using the camera, and found that it was hit and miss whether I could get a good photo out of the camera. For a 7 MP camera, the resolution of even the "good" photos is terrible. All the photos were grainy. Further, I have to change the batteries daily, and my daughter isn't taking a huge number of photos. Yes, this is an inexpensive camera, but really it's just a cheap camera. Save up your money for something that actually takes good quality photos and at least has a rechargeable battery.

OK for a basic camera, but battery life is deplorable.
2009-09-19I wanted to get a decent "beginner" digital camera for my 8-year-old daughter so was really attracted to this 7MP camera and she loved the color. The price was what sold it though. At $50, I wouldn't be as worried about how it was treated or if it got lost.
My daugther really likes it and the pictures are decent, but the battery life is ridiculously short. It takes 2 AA batteries and will generally die after a hour or so of collective use.
The camera is OK, but if I had to do it over again, would have purchased a different camera.

good camera for a girl
2009-09-18My 9 yr old daughter loves the camera. It takes good pictures. Not as user friendly as would of liked. And the batteries go fast so I am buying her re-chargeable batteries. Good for the price.

Camera basics: shutter-speed, aperture and ISO
In this article, I’ll introduce you to the basic elements that you can use to control exposure in your shooting. If you have a digital SLR, there will be a way to set all of these controls on your camera, but since they differ between manufacturers and models, you’ll need to refer to your camera’s manual to find out exactly how to change them.
All cameras, whether an ancient film camera, or a more modern digital, work in pretty much the same way. Photographs are taken by letting light fall onto a light-sensitive medium, which records the image. Traditionally, this has been film, but more recently, it tends to be a digital sensor. The more light that falls onto the film or sensor, the lighter the image.
Put simply, a camera consists of a light-tight box that stores a light-sensitive device (either a film or a digital sensor), a lens that magnifies and focuses the image onto that light-sensitive device through a hole in the box (called the aperture) , and a shutter that opens ...
