Sony Cybershot DSCW120 7.2MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot (Silver)
Product Description:
The 7.2-Megapixel Cyber-shot(R) W120 features innovative Smile Shutter technology, which photographs smiles as they happen. A Carl Zeiss 4x optical zoom lens provides high quality close-ups, while Sony's Double Anti-Blur solution gives you crisp, clear images. The advanced Sony Super HAD(TM) (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. Because an off-center subject can make your shot more interesting, a 9-point auto focus measures the focus at 9 precision points instead of 5 giving you greater creative freedom to compose your image. The large, bright 2.5" TFT LCD display makes it easy to compose shots, check results, and read menus in sharp natural color, even in bright sunlight. Face Detection technology automatically controls focus, exposure, color, and flash to help reveal faces in shadows, make skin tones look more natural, reduce red-eye, and eliminate harsh facial glare, so your photos bring out every expression on every face in every shot. Super SteadyShot(R) Image Stabilization compensates for shaky hands and minimizes blur with optical sensors that detect camera movement and send correcting signals to a stabilization lens. Aperture Range - Auto (F2.8-F14 with ND Filter) / Program Auto (F2.8-F14 with ND Filter) Shutter Speed - Auto (1/4 - 1/1,600) / Program Auto (1 - 1/1,600) Flash Modes - Auto, Forced On, Forced Off, and Slow Synch Movie Modes - MPEG VX Fine with Audio (640x480 at 30fps), MPEG VX Standard with Audio (640x480 at 16fps), Presentation (320 x 240 at 8fps) Scene Modes - Auto, Easy Shooting, Program Auto, Movie, High Sensitivity, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Soft Snap, Landscape, Beach, Snow, Fireworks, and Smile Shutter Operating System - Microsoft 2000 Professional, Me, XP Home and Professional, Macintosh OS 9.1, 9.2, OS X (10.0-10.4)

Amazing camera!
2008-12-01The Soney Cybershop DSCW120/B 7.2MP is a truly amazing camera. It is a small profile (smaller than my wallet), easy to use and has more features than I have had time to explore. One of the coolest features is the Smile Recognition program. Point at your (human)subject and push the shutter button down, hold it for a second and when your subject smiles, it takes the picture!
The display is crystal clear and very large for the size of the camera. If you just want a point and shoot, select the Easy mode and the camera does everying for you except pushing the button. The steady shot feature works great and you will get a sharp clear picture even if you move when you hit the shutter.
There is a barely noticable delay from the time you push the shuter button until the time the picture is taken unlike the older digital cameras that kept you waiting with a one or two second delay.
Best advice, buy a large memory card when you buy the camera, the bigger the better, especially if you want to shoot video which is fairly good quality but not nearly as good as a dedicated video camera.
Also, read the manual! If there is a drawback to this camera it is the many features it has. It's easy to get lost in them if you don't read the manual. Naturally being a man I didn't read it and got lost in the selection of features. Of course, I use it on Easy mode anyway so go figure...

Great camera, easy to use
2008-11-29I bought this camera for my husband and it has become a family favorite. Easy to use and it produces beautiful images.

Sony Cybershot 7.2mp
2008-11-19
is an excellent camera with a good design and color, will recommend to the entire world, by its very economical price

Thanks for nothing.
2008-11-19I ordered this camera package as a Christmas gift for my wife. Our old camera had fallen and broke, so we'd been borrowing one from my mother-in-law. But this deal looked like a great way to replace it, and score points for a Christmas gift.
But Electronics Express sent the camera in the original package, and just slapped some packaging tape and a shipping label on it. The surprise is ruined. I'm surprised that the camera even arrived as every postal worker that touched the box would know what was inside.
What a tremendously dumb decision. The camera (if it works like the one my m-i-l has) is great.

Sony cybershot DSCW120 is a must have...
2008-11-17I have had the Sony Cybersot for about two months now. I owned a previous model of the Sony Cybershot that I absolutely loved. unfortunately It fell out of my purse and crash to the ground. It was never the same. But din't get me wrong that was the last of thusands of crashes... That was just the final one.
So I automatically set out to get another. First off I loved that I had a choice of colors (Pink, Black, Silver & Blue). Of coarse I chose the pink... Thing that I hated most was the music. It took me a while to figure out how to cut that annoying feature off. InstantlyI was not a fan of the menu... I had to actually break down and use the manual... For me that is virtually unheard of!!! & Believe me I am embarassed to actually admitt this fact... lol
Ok back to the Sony Cybershot. I purchased this camera for the Smile Shutter technology. It captures smiles the moment they happen - without having to press shutter. The mode can be set to capture when your subject laughs, smiles or even grins. It also has Face Detection function is able to differentiate children and adults to set priority.
With this camera I actually take better pictures in poor lighing. It takes fabulous pictures in normal lighting. There has been several occasions that I have used my camera and my pictures have been requested the most...
I am also very pleased that the screen in the rear of the camera is huge and clear as a bell. In poor lighting you can't see very well but that is expected. Once you take enough pictures you will be able to capture whatever your heart desires.
7.2-megapixel gives you more detail and definition whenever you need big prints or for tight cropping. The advanced Sony Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise. So Bad lighting situations are ideal for this camera.
Carl Zeiss 4x Optical Zoom Lens is great for sharp, detailed long shots and quickly frame images for better composition -- great for family sports, outdoor fun, and travel photos.
I love this camera and for about $179 this is a perfect gift...for more reviews NewLifeFromWisdom . com

Audio & Video Connections Guide
" For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three." - Alice Kahn
This quote is certainly applicable to consumer electronics. From the very first commercially produced radios to the latest in high-definition television technology, the manner in which the components used to deliver our news, music, movies and entertainment are interconnected seems to have escaped logic. For both the newcomer and the old hand alike, connecting equipment in the most efficient and effective manner can be a painful chore. It is hoped this article will improve your background knowledge concerning potential A/V system connection schemes and where each is most appropriate. The next time you find yourself in a "connectivity quandary" perhaps the ideas shared here will help you to quickly solve the riddle of which wire goes where and why!

Why You Should Use A Mini DV Camcorder
Introduction
The mini DV camcorder has many advantages to offer its users. If you enjoy your digital video camera you will also enjoy this. The mini DV camcorder is easier to take with you than the regular sized cameras such as the hi definition camcorder, or the hi-Res camcorder. The size of this camcorder is one of its big advantages. The features this camcorder can offer are also great. Some cameras offer more features than others, so make sure that the camera has the features you want.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Generally when design, performance and technological improvements are made on electronic products there is a reduction in size as well to make them more compact.
For example the early day radios were built in large cabinets and required radio vacuum tubes. Eventually, transistor radios were constructed and were more portable. Today, a radio can be as small as a wristwatch.
Camcorders have also evolved in tec ...
