Looks comfy for baby
2008-11-05Comfy looking. The only thing that concerns me is the looseness of the mobile that overhangs. I'd feel better if it snapped in there more securely. Cute chair though and nice sounds.

Very nice seat, but baby doesn't like it
2008-11-03I registered for this seat because it is more aesthetically pleasing than others on the market. Although he likes the music, my baby boy has never liked the vibrating feature. I also think the open papasan design of the seat is too open for newborns, because they tend to like cosier, enclosed spaces. My baby prefers to sit in his car seat. If I had to do it over again, I would get an infant seat that is a bouncer.

Beautiful, unique and worth it!
2008-09-02I cant write a review on how much my baby loves it as she isnt born yet..but I certainly do! It was super easy to put together. The fabric is beautiful, its very sturdy and seems like a comfy seat. I want the entire Zen collection now! I bought this piece first to make sure I loved it in person as much as I do in the pictures. :) Cant wait to get the swing!

Best One I Have Seen
2008-09-02We love this seat and can't wait for our son (who will be coming in December) to use it. I bought this seat without knowing the sex of our baby and I think that it can be used for either a boy or a girl. I have had many friends compliment on the colors and design of the seat. It doesn't look like a baby seat in our family room, it blends in and looks like a piece of furniture.

Looks great - but not that entertaining on its own
2008-07-15The seat looks great in the living room - finally something that's not super babyish! It doesn't do much other than vibrate, so it's Ok as long as my son is being stimulated/entertained by something else (e.g., watching Baby Einstein, interacting with Mom/Dad). My son is content longer in a cheap little bouncy seat because his own actions bounce the seat & make the multiple dangling toys wave around.

Playing With Your Child
While children do need time to play alone and with other children without adult intervention, research shows that playtime with parents is also important.
Children crave time with parents. It makes them feel special. Parents are encouraged to find time to spend playing with their kids on a regular basis. This should include one to one with each child and group time with all of the adults and kids in the home. If you are a single parent or have an only child, occasionally invite family or friends over to play.
In pretend play, let the child develop the theme. Get into their world. Let them go with it. Ask questions. Play along. Be silly along with them and have fun. Avoid over-stimulation. Know when it is time to stop.
Also, when appropriate, parents can use stuffed animals or puppets to act out real-life situations that can teach problem solving or social skills. Let the puppet demonstrate the wrong way to handle a situation. Then, along with input fr ...
You and Your Newborn Baby: a guide to the first months after birth
Regardless of whether labor is long or short, whether it is hard or easy whether a baby is born vaginally or by cesarean, most parents recall the first hours and days after birth as crystal-clear images surrounded by haze. It is in this haze that you first take in your baby and make a giant leap from pregnancy to parenting.
Despite all the anticipatory parenting done before conception and during pregnancy, despite weeks of feeling movement within and fantasizing about your baby, despite months of having strange dreams, worrisome thoughts, and musings about what kind of parent you will be, the first time you hold your baby in your arms and call yourself mother or father, mama or papa, mommy or daddy, an awareness floods over you that life will never be the same again. Another human being is now dependent upon you for survival. More than anything else, you want to be the best parent possible.
Your awareness of your baby's dependency and your desire to be a good parent will together ...
