Product Description:
(not the iPhone) With the Apple iPod touch, Apple has married the iPhone's revolutionary multi-touch interface to their popular digital media player. So instead of a Click Wheel, you just use your fingers to flick through your music, photos, and video. Two fingers can be used in a pinching or spreading motion as well, which zooms in and out of photos and web pages. That's right, the iPod touch is the first iPod to offer web access. It does this via built-in Wi-Fi support. There's even a special iTunes Wi-Fi Store, so you can browse and purchase new music and video while you're on the road. The latest iPod touch now offers a suite of new applications, including email, maps, and handy widgets for weather, notes, and stocks. The new iPod touch also features a customizable home screen that lets you rearrange buttons and create your own Web Clips. Obsolete even before it arrives
2008-09-06As other reviewers have noted, this is a beautifully designed, sleek, highly functional product.
However, as noted in the fine-print above and on Apple's website, the iPod Touch is being sold with firmware (1.1.5) that was replaced by a new version (2.0) two months ago.
Mine arrived 12 hours ago, and instead of enjoying it, I have spent much of that time on the phone with Apple trying to understand how I can buy a brand-new product and receive one WITH OBSOLETE FIRMWARE and then be asked to pay an additional $10 to "upgrade" to the firmware that was released two months before I bought the product.
I find this entirely unacceptable and unprecedented, and it has fully tarnished the image of Apple Inc in my mind.
So for $10, instead of feeling good about my new iPod, I am feeling bitter about the obnoxious company that sold it.

Why buy this when a new generation it's coming?
2008-09-04Rumor has it that an improved I touch will come in September. Better wi fi, better battery life, better price-capacity relation and they say it will have GPS and may be a mic or a camera included.but the better part is that, for sure, prices will drop in the average of 100.00 or more. So This is a waste of money. At this price!!

Great except for Wi-Fi and battery life
2008-09-04I really like this little device, despite it's drawbacks. I did buy it mainly for music but having all of the other tools is also helpful. The battery life doesn't last nearly as long as it says, I usually have to charge it once a day. Thankfully it doesn't take long to charge.
My big beef is the Wi-Fi. It says it connects to the network but when I try to do anything that requires internet, it "Can't find server." I was able to connect at one location, however at home and work (the two places I'm at the most) it will not work. After researching the Apple support forums it appears to possibly be a problem with my wireless router at home (need to update the firmware) so I'm withholding judgment until I figure out exactly where the problem lies.

Awesome
2008-09-03This item is awesome. I have had an ipod for over 2 years. I had the video ipod before this one and I loved it too. But this ipod touch is something much more than I could have imagined. Thanks Apple.

Loving it
2008-09-02This is a great product and i am loving every minute of having it, but with all the accessories the cost never ends

Printer Buying Guide
What kind of printer is best for me?
Choosing the right printer can be a daunting task. There are several different types of printing technology to choose from, each suited for different needs. Printers come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny travel companions to workgroup workhorses; some are geared toward photographers, others are for multitaskers. And the many specifications for resolution and speed can be misleading. As a rule of thumb, inkjet printers are a must for long-lasting photos, while laser printers are best to produce speedy text documents.

Home user
The home user demands a lot from a printer. The device must tackle everything from a book report to a newsletter to the occasional snapshot--all without breaking the budget. This is why for most home users, the best choice is a versatile and affordable printer, such as a small-office/home-office color ...
Camera basics: shutter-speed, aperture and ISO
In this article, I’ll introduce you to the basic elements that you can use to control exposure in your shooting. If you have a digital SLR, there will be a way to set all of these controls on your camera, but since they differ between manufacturers and models, you’ll need to refer to your camera’s manual to find out exactly how to change them.
All cameras, whether an ancient film camera, or a more modern digital, work in pretty much the same way. Photographs are taken by letting light fall onto a light-sensitive medium, which records the image. Traditionally, this has been film, but more recently, it tends to be a digital sensor. The more light that falls onto the film or sensor, the lighter the image.
Put simply, a camera consists of a light-tight box that stores a light-sensitive device (either a film or a digital sensor), a lens that magnifies and focuses the image onto that light-sensitive device through a hole in the box (called the aperture) , and a shutter that opens ...
